Throwback Post: Honeysuckle Intoxication

June 2 2013:

Just back from a beautiful and inspiring walk. I got to walk by 2 yards that have honeysuckle. I floated home on a cloud of intoxicating honeysuckle scent. There’s no tellin what I’ll do. If you see me floatin by, throw me a smile! Gosh, I LOVE the smell of honeysuckle!! Visions of my childhood flooded my mind and heart! Now … I’m gonna sit and write for a bit. Happy, Beautiful Friday Y’all!

This was written over 2 months ago, on September 28 2019. If you follow me and my writings, you’ll know I have been incredibly busy these past few months with this nightmarish move, finishing my book, Words of Alchemy, maintaining MeetingtheAuthors.com, and parenting.

It has taken a while to come back around to this and publish it. The above being one reason. Another reason is that I needed to allow space. The event that brought forth this one, brought with it strong and deep emotions. I am well past it at this point, having allowed myself to sit with it and feel it. May it be meaningful to you or someone you know.

A Haunting Memory

Why does this memory haunt her? Why does it keep returning? She does not remember the exact age of when this happened. She would have been 5, 6 or 7 years old. The past couple of years when this memory surfaced she has taken the time to feel emotions she buried from that time …. sadness and anger. Even though she remembers not who was involved, she has forgiven whoever it was.

Pluck from the Vine

After I pluck the tomato from its vine, I move the tomato to my nose and breathe in the smell of the freshly broken connection of vine to fruit. glgkhjg

That smell and feel of the vine take me instantly to my mammaw Downs and her garden. A garden I despised as a kid and teen. I so disliked the chore of all the grandkids to help in the garden.
