South Lake Tahoe Vegan Lunch Meet Up

April 22 2023

Lovely drive to and from South Lake Tahoe for a vegan lunch meet up with the Lake Tahoe Herbivores. It was such a beautiful drive. I stopped for scenic photos on the way there. Loved getting to see my Pisces birthday twin, Tania. 💜💜💜 I had the enchiladas with red sauce and a horchata.

The Romano Duo made it home about two hours ago. Minus a piece of luggage that wanted a beach vacation in Florida! Oh no! Hope it makes it’s way back to them. We sure enjoyed having them here!

This time I added vanilla and cinnamon! So good!!! (Next time, I may get all crazy and try adding cocoa and make a chocolate loaf!) YUM!!!!

After almost a TWO hour meltdown for both Thomas and Lillian and then having to earn our adventure back … We are finally off for a picnic adventure!!

And we made it … Perfect place for a picnic. Drive up was so beautiful … Brought “wow this place is awe-some” tears to my eyes!!! Amazing!! Makes my heart skip a beat!!
Grateful for a beautiful day with my kids . . . long picnic lunch at Sand Harbor beach, great ride up there and back, candle light dinner {Thomas’s idea) and now for some relaxing while Team Member T is in the bath. Think I’ll pull em both outside before bed and sit for a few minutes . . . the weather is so mild right now . . .

My son Thomas has to have the most exciting life of any 5 year old I know. Told me that today at Ms. Kat’s they went to the airport and then flew to Africa and they also learned Spanish! Seriously now – I really don’t remember doing as many adventurous and exciting things in my childhood!

A Feeling Like No Other – Camilla at Nevada Beach, Lake Tahoe

July 16 2021

She’s been calling my name for over a year. Put some things together, stopped for a vegan donut and cappuccino, and here I am. Had a snack, a few swims, now eating lunch.

This is a feeling like no other. I am relaxed, at peace, soothed. I’m home. I love you Lake Tahoe. Thank you.

Fun synchronicity story of an introverted extrovert …

I was supposed to have a poolside chat with a friend and her son yesterday morning. My friend wasn’t feeling good so that got canceled. I decided to drive to South Lake Tahoe, Nevada Beach. I wish I could say I came to that decision in an instant, as I’ve been wanting to visit Lake Tahoe since last year. It’s always an internal struggle for me to leave the house, leave my comfort zone.

Conversation with myself:

Me: You have been wanting to go for a year now. Just go.
Me: But, maybe I should just do my regular routine, go for a walk, and then a swim?
Me: You’ve had a full year of staying at home, it’s time to start getting out and doing the things you daydream about doing.
Me: Maybe I’ll start doing that next week.
Me: When have you ever regretted leaving the house for a ride up to Lake Tahoe?
Me:
Me: If you want to do these things you daydream about, you have got to get out there and do them. You are not getting any younger. You have got to learn to step out of your comfort zone, and do things alone. You can’t sit at home waiting for whatever it is you’re waiting for.
Me: Okay then. I’m doing it!

This went on for a good hour before I finally put some things together and left. I invited Thomas but he wasn’t up for it.

Nevada Beach is nearly an hour’s drive from where I live in Reno. When I reached Nevada Beach it was nearly 10:00am. The spot I chose to park and to enter the beach laid the way for the synchronicity that followed. Instead of following the paved entrance to the beach, I veered off and followed a sort-of sand path. To my delight there were only a few people in this section. (Heaven for an introvert!!)

After about 2 and a half hours, I heard a familiar voice behind me. I turned around and saw it was my birthday twin, Tania, who lives in the area. Not only that, she had friends from Arizona with her that I had only ever met through facebook. We had a lovely time catching up and chatting. They had planned on going for a hike most of the day, deciding instead for a relaxing beach day.

Many things had to line up for this to happen. It was such a great day.

Thank you “outgoing” me for not giving up on “stay in the comfort zone” me.

Although I am an introvert, when I am among friends, or when I become comfortable with others, it’s difficult to get me to stop talking! HA!

Majestic and Magical Lake Tahoe

June 26 2019:

Lillian and I had planned on visiting the Incline Village library yesterday as she wanted to get movies for the long weekend with The Romano Duo (which started today)! Yay!!!! Respite for me started today through Saturday afternoon!!! Wahoooo!!!

We were delayed making our way up there as we had to make a quick run to the doctor for Lillian to have the redness underneath her eye checked. And to confirm it’s allergy related. (For those that don’t know the area, Incline Village and Lake Tahoe are a 30-40 minute drive from here.)

We finally arrived at the library 10 minutes before closing. Good thing we’re fast as we found about 10 movies and checked out with 1 minute to spare! Three years ago, leading up to the 2016 Chromosome 18 Conference, Lillian conquered her fear of using the stairs without my assistance. She wanted to revisit that fear before we left the library!! Yes!!! Go Lillian go!! 💥💥💥

I did not want to have driven all that way for only a 10 minute stop at the library. So we visited Kings Beach to bask in the sand, sky, trees, wind, waves, and the magical and majestic Lake Tahoe. She’s a beauty, isn’t she?

Love the wee bubbles of splashing water captured in the first photo! And what a wonderful photo of Lillian looking at the lake. The photos I’ve been posting don’t do her justice. So magical.
