Manfish – A Story of Jacques Cousteau

Beautifully illustrated story of a boy who fell in love with the sea and dreamed of breathing beneath the waves.

An inventor, adventurer, explorer, poetic writer – a remarkable person.

Cannabis Revealed – How the World’s Most Misunderstood Plant is Healing Everything from Chronic Pain to Epilepsy

I’m researching CBD oil and I was referred to this book by another Chromosome 18 mom. I’m glad she did. I loved how the author included history of cannabis and detailed information to help a lay person understand.

Plus, I got to learn about the endocannabinoid system that we all have within us. I had never even heard of it! Great book for anyone wanting to educate themselves on this topic.

Your Life is a Book – How to Craft & Publish Your Memoir

In the past I have stayed away from books like this, choosing instead to read deeply spiritual, mystical, and inner exploration type books. Recently, while pulling holds at the library, I was drawn to this book and others like it. Although I checked it out, the book sat for weeks while I read other books.

I’m grateful that there are times when I listen to the inner knowing and do things without question …and really, don’t even know that’s what I’m doing. HA! This book was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. And, surprisingly was also deeply spiritual. Imagine that!!

Book Musings: Life by the Cup

Life by the Cup

Having started reading biographies and memoirs, I’m grateful this was one of the first. I’ve read others along the way, yet I’ve a different reason for reading them now.

I deeply enjoyed this journey with Zhena as she transformed her life and allowed it to blossom from her gypsy roots and heritage into a passion for organic, fair trade tea. Deepened with her own spiritual insights rolled into her life like the tea leaves she dearly loves.

I have a new and stronger appreciation for tea and those who grow it and cultivate the leaves. I’m grateful to Zhena for the beautiful way in which she wrote about the tea leaves and the mixture of flowers, fruits, and essential oils. xoxo

Book Musings: Writing Down the Bones

Writing Down the Bones – Freeing the Writer Within

“The deepest secret in our heart of hearts is that we are writing because we love the world, and why not finally carry that secret out with our bodies into the living rooms and porches, backyards and grocery stores? Let the whole thing flower: the poem and the person writing the poem. And let us always be kind in this world.”

Another book I deeply loved. Enjoyed the energy of the book and would love to own this one! My reading preferences have shifted for the time being to that of books about writing, memoirs, and creative non-fiction interwoven with spirituality.

The first book that began this path was “The Right to Write” by Julia Cameron. The reading list for this topic is years long. That’s okay though as I plan on writing and reading for the rest of my days here …. xoxo
