Movie Night: Frozen II

April 11 2020

Team TLC movie night – Lillian’s choice: “Frozen II”

Lillian says, “Good, liked the songs and music, favorite character is Elsa, funny in some parts, emotional, and suspenseful.”

I say, “It was okay. Glad I watched it with Lillian.”

Thomas watched it, but has nothing to say.

Movie Night: Ladies in Lavender

March 22 2020

Extra movie night for me last night, as Lillian postponed our team movie night to tonight.

“Ladies in Lavender.”

I’ve had this on my ‘to watch’ list for years, mainly due to starring Maggie Smith and Judie Dench. Both of them were superb in their roles. I also loved their housekeeper, Dorcas, played by Miriam Margoyles. Set in Cornwall, slow and simple, with a tad bit of mystery.

Movie Night: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

March 16 2020

Team TLC Extra Movie Night – “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” – I put this on hold at the library months ago and it came in last week. It would have been due this Wednesday, but ….. with the libraries closed, they have asked that patrons not return items until they are open again. Bonus days with our movies!

I say, “Perfect timing. I think we should have a global week long Mr. Rogers binge. I am so incredibly grateful this wonderful man was part of my childhood.”

Thomas says, “It was good.”

Lillian says, “Good, and liked the music.”

Movie Night: Truth

March 7 2020

Team TLC Movie Night – My choice: “Truth” …. Well … Just me this time around. No one wanted to watch this with me. Ha!

Wow! Incredibly interesting to learn more about this. This happened right about the time Lillian’s diagnosis was delivered, so my energies and focus were elsewhere. Glad I watched this.

Movie Night: The Little Mermaid

March 2 2020

Team TLC Extra Movie – Lillian’s choice: “The Little Mermaid”

Lillian says, “Good, liked the music, liked the moral, liked Elizabeth and Elle.”

I say, “Classic tale with a weird twist. A traveling circus in Mississippi, selling healing water, and with a real live mermaid. Definitely not Oscar worthy acting, yet loved Shirley MacLaine in her role.”

Thomas says, “It was hilariously bad. My favorite line was “rising orchestral”. 😜🤣 (The DVD is stuck with the closed captioning set to on. So, we had a verbal description for the music!!)
