Throwback Post: Moving and Spring Break with Wild Horses

April 1 2014:

Team TLC is finally looking to move anytime between this weekend and May 1st. I have been looking the past several months. Check Craig’s List every day but thought I’d see if anyone knows of a place not listed there. Looking for 3 bedrooms (or 2 plus bonus room) 1 and 1/2 or 2 bathrooms. We would love to stay in the South Reno/Damonte Ranch/Virginia Foothills/South Meadows area but are open to other areas of Reno and Sparks. We would also love to have a place located near a walking trail so we can continue having our walks. A house would be awesome but also looking at town homes and condos. No upstairs units though as Lillian can’t safely do outdoor stairs. I’m looking at apartments too if anyone is aware of any positive/negative feedback about apartments, would love to hear them! Thanks tons and tons! Hugs and smiles to all y’all!

Just back from a wonderful walk in the rain with Thomas. So beautiful and uplifting!!!

Figured Spring Break was a good opportunity to invite Thomas and Lillian to each choose a night they get to cook dinner. Thomas’ turn tonight. Trader Joe’s organic mac n cheese and mini pizza! It was really really good! Thomas can’t wait until next Monday night when he gets to cook again! Lillian’s turn is coming up Thursday night!

Check out the visitors I just had! This is on the walking trail behind my house! Look at the cute little baby! Babies are just cute – no matter what kinda baby!!

What fun we had!! Next time – Don’t Miss It!!! Raised enough funds to gift to the next 3 or 4 children who have applied for a Gift a Voice Grant. And about 70 cell phones were donated!! WooooHoooo!

20 minute Team TLC cleaning of house done and wrapped up with a dance party to Halloween music!! “I’m your boogie man, boogie man ….”

Look what was waiting when we got home from our Scavenger Hunt Adventures!!! The SECOND order of books! Not many left from the 1st order, so this arrived just in time …. Another one coming by next Wednesday! Whew! My cup so runneth over today …. I’m grateful for this awesome adventure called LIFE!!!

Wonderful sunset walk with Thomas last night ….. He hit pinecones with a stick until he couldn’t hit anymore! So inspiring watching him. xoxo

Went on a different walk this morning. After dropping off Thomas for camp, had a beautiful stroll with the trees, birds, and the babbling creek water.

With every step and every walk, the next book debut gets closer and closer. Tentatively titled, “Walk With Me” …

Thank you nature!! Nature = Love, Nature = Healing and Nature = Freedom.

I Am Not Alive & What Are the Rules

Took Lillian for her 3rd dentist appt this morning for the opterator device (to try & help w/ speech). This was just to get the retainer. (An opterator is a retainer with pieces added onto the back to prevent airflow through the nose).

I let her take it out for a little while after school (she would NOT close her mouth, will not swallow, would not talk, read or do anything with it in). After a few minutes she typed into her Dynavox, “I am not alive”. We are struggling with this one! She asked me to tell her the “rules” for how to swallow & close her mouth with the retainer piece in her mouth.

Oh my! I’m in for an interesting ride on this one!

June 2025 Update: We did not make it past this. Lillian did not tolerate the device. She would not let me put it back into her mouth! 

Throwback Post: Summer Bucket List 2014

We made summer bucket lists on Saturday, sat down together to review them today, and put items on the calendar. We talked about steps to take to help arrive at desired bucket list items and Thomas and Lillian prepared menus for when it’s their turn to cook. Thomas wants to make chicken pot pie so I suggested he look for recipes online … so cute! Lillian wants to make homemade popsicles so she looked online for that. Ended the daylight with an hour and a half walk … Love! xoxo

S’mores! Spring break camping at Camp TLC continues with oven warmed and perfectly gooey s’mores. Thomas and I had it all over our hands and faces. YUM!!

Thomas and I went for a walk on Sunday. It was windy, cloudy and cold …. Then, I found this …. Perfect! I keep forgetting this week to keep my love faucet turned on …. full blast! Filling my heart up with love. So much. So big. See it. Share it. BE IT!
