Throwback Post: Thomas and His New Pets

**THROWBACK POST**

July 21 2010:

Since Cinamon has left us, Thomas has been on the search for a new pet. He found an ant on the bathroom floor which he had for a pet for an entire 5 minutes until he lost it. Then, he found 2 roly poly bugs (can’t remember their “official” name). He was excited cause he had a whole family!! He had those for maybe a few hours and even played hide and seek with them. This kid cracks me up!

Throwback Post: Mesons and Atoms and The Neutrino and Galileo’s Infinite Instants

**THROWBACK POST**

July 22 2016:

We’re reading Norman Cousin’s book, The Celebration of Life, out loud together. When I began reading the section about mesons, atoms, the neutrino, and Galileo’s infinite instants; Thomas was glued to the book and didn’t want me to stop.

We only read a few pages a night. He loves mesons (which I have never heard of or don’t remember learning about) and when I was describing infinite instants, he yelled, “I know what that is”, before I got to the section with the term in it. I am so incredibly blessed by this young man, his spirit, his heart, his light … xoxoxo

Throwback Post: One Gift is Always Free

**THROWBACK POST**

August 3 2013:

“One gift is always free …. LOVE” -Thomas Darnell

I was in Thomas’ bedroom this morning opening his blinds and windows and stopped to take a look at his 2013 vision/dream board. As many times as I’ve looked at it, I’ve never noticed this quote that he hand wrote. I am a believer that we allow messages and people into our lives at just the right moment. It was my moment to receive this message.

At times I choose to mentally bash myself for not giving more by way of money/material items. I needed the reminder that I lavishly share what I have an abundance of ….. LOVE. All ya need is love …. My wish is that this message is received by exactly who needs it this morning!! Thomas continues to show me why we chose each other as parent/child. Overflowing with love and gratitude this Saturday morning …

The End of One Phase and the Beginning of the Next for Thomas

June 10 2022

Thomas finished 10th grade today (and some of 11th grade). He completed 17 credits over the past 2 years, ending with a cumulative 4.0.

Next year brings new beginnings at TMCC Magnet High school, with earning dual credits from Truckee Meadows Community College.

We celebrated with chocolate donuts, and a photo of Thomas.

I am so very proud of Thomas, I’m grateful that I get to be his mom, and am super excited for Thomas’s future! You are my sunshine, Thomas.
