**THROWBACK POST**

June 20 2013:

What a wonderful 2 hours spent yesterday laughing and sharing with someone I’ve never met face to face, yet have known for about 5 years through a private list serve and on facebook. We walked up to each other, embraced and immediately eased right into conversation as if we’d known each other forever …. It took her telling me she would be driving through Reno on the way to California and asking if we’d like to meet for lunch and me saying, “Heck ya!” .. We share a common connection through an uncommon chromosome our daughters have. What a beautiful moment of connection with another person. I share this to encourage you to make that first move, take that first step and reach out to someone you may be urged to connect with. It doesn’t have to be a common connection like we share. Truly we are ALL connected to one another.

Dare to Risk

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach for another is to risk involvement.
To expose your ideas, your dreams before a crowd, is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To believe is to risk disappointment.
But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life …. is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing may avoid suffering and sorrow,
But their self-esteem cannot soar.
They may not learn, feel, change, grow, love or really live life to the fullest.
They are chained by their attitudes.
They become slaves.
They have forfeited their freedom.
ONLY a person who RISKS is able to experience
REAL FREEDOM.
