The Circle of Life by Camilla Downs

April 14 2019:

Working on the next book and discovered I never shared this fun poem from July 2018!

The Circle of Life

On a bed of lentils,
surrounded by yellow flowers,
in cycles of three
she rotated through life.

What has she done wrong,
What did she do for all
the right reasons ….

Ode to Patty

Always there,
Always with
Love to share.

Always with a
Comfy and cozy

She makes
Us giggle
She makes
Us wiggle …

She makes us wiggle?
Well, not really, yet
That’s the word
That shot forth!

Deeply for her
Family she
Does care.

Always there,
Always with
Love to share.

Love,
Camilla 💖

Magical Fairy Drops

December 25 2018

My handmade gift to Lillian. Her favorite color is blue, favorite color combination is rainbow colors, and she loves glitter and sparkles.

Magical Fairy Drops

She is a fairy
A fairy whom
Likes a berry.

She is a fairy.
A fairy that’s
Definitely not hairy.

A lover of shadows
A lover of weather
She is a fairy.

Inspired by the sparkles,
Lifted by the rainbows,
Delighted by the
Pink and orange sunsets.

Eyes shining bright
To behold the
Beautiful sky.

All aglow with
The sighting of
The magical moon.

Icicles, dew drops,
Puff balls, fresh snow,
Spring flowers,
Summer showers,
Autumn leaves
These are a few of her
Favorite things.

She is a fairy.
She is Lillian.

Love,
Camilla💙🌈

The Path of the Heart by Camilla Downs

November 17 2018:

The Path of the Heart

The path back home
seems littered with
suffering and struggle.

What is this insane
ability to cause
one self such suffering?

Suffering by way of the
thoughts that dart
here and there,
at times stabbing
the soul as if they
were a cold, sharp knife.

When one golden day
the tides of change
bring ….

Submitting Poems and I Was Born To

November 16 2018:

Another “planting of the seed” that I’ve planted and will move on … As it takes them up to 6 months to read the poems and only after that do you find out if they accept any of them. At least I did it!! Took forever to go through the poems and narrow down to four!!

And, a little fun …

“I was born to be a beautiful sunset walk with y’all and I love you dearly.”

Just had to do this … Type “I was born” and let the predictive feature write the rest. Haha!

Knowing of the Heart by Camilla Downs

Knowing of the Heart

We have come together upon this Earth
to travel our own separate paths
Yet, traveling them together.

It has not escaped my attention
that there were and are places
and experiences we talked and
dreamed of experiencing.

Our lives together seem to
have become mundane and boring.

Seeming to have the same days
over and over again.
With little new experiences
by way of sights, sounds,
and experiences.

Refuel and Nourish Your Body by Camilla Downs

May 18 2018:

Just as I refuel and nourish your physical body,
You must take action to refuel and nourish your emotional and creative body.

You cannot serve others if you are deeply depleted.

Creativity and improvising become clouded and stagnant when you are depleted.

You tell yourself you must continue, yet unless you give yourself time away from those who unknowingly drain you; your circumstances will not improve.

There are those in your life you …….

Goose Feather with Water Droplets Poem 5.23.18

The squark of the seagull overhead.
The beep and roar of the construction equipment.
The call and honk of the geese.

The thunder of the leaf blower.
The slow ripples in the lake.
The ever so gentle harmony of the song birds.

The blare of ….
