The Team TLC toast last night …. With a fragrant and fruity 2015 mixed berry sparkling water. And I’m thinking the pumpkin pie I made without sweetened condensed milk was a hit. Between the 3 of us there’s only one big piece left! Topped with homemade whipped cream lightly sweetened with maple syrup. YUM! xoxo

December 3 2013:

Team TLC did it different for our November month of gratitude … I decided to change it up! We planted our very own Gratitude Garden! We each added to the tree every day. We added so much love to our tree that it became blooming full! I chose to grow our garden freestyle so we didn’t date our fruit and leaves. We just added a word or two of what we are thankful and grateful for, added our name, decorated and then “planted it”! Here is each of ours in no particular order ….. Mother’s Day Message 2023

Not Your Typical Mother’s Day Post

“You’re not like my classmate’s parents”, they say. I ask if that bothers them. “It bothers me that their parents are the way they are. I like how you are.” – A recent conversation with Thomas.

I didn’t start out this way. When Thomas and Lillian were born I was a hardcore conservative. This isn’t a political post, so let’s just say that life gave me a sampler platter of all the things I judged harshly. I chose to open my mind and heart and educate myself about these things. I chose to create friendships outside of my localized bubble, making friends worldwide. This expanded my views even more. Now I am the complete opposite, hardcore progressive. I have done my best, worked my hardest, so that when Thomas and Lillian reach adulthood, they are their true selves.

“You’re just showing off.” – she said. I agree, yes, I am. I’ve spent so many years dimming my glow, not shining my light, for fear of causing discomfort to others, and fear that they will not like it, or me. I just can no longer live that way. – A recent conversation with Lillian.

And honestly, because it attracts [redacted as it contains explicit language] full post is on my personal blog.

This is THE BEST Mother’s Day Gift I could ever wish for or receive. Children who have clarity of thinking, discernment, compassion, and empathy. Throughout the years, or at least from the time Thomas was 2 years old and Lillian was 6 years old, I endeavored to raise these two to think for themselves, to make choices aligned with their authentic selves, to live their truth, not what or how society says life should be lived.

I was not given this growing up (not saying that was purposeful), and at 53 years old am finishing what I began about 6 years ago. Unmasking myself and unpacking the ways in which I thought life had to be lived to be happy. Thank you to my amazing therapist who is finishing what I began about 10 years ago. I went as far as I could. She is helping to peel the remaining layers, healing what needs to be healed, revealing all my shiny facets.

The Wilds of Costco

More waiting this afternoon. Thomas needed something from Costco for teacher appreciation week.

I just cannot do Costco. It’s way too big, way too many people, way too much crap. The parking lot is an absolute nightmare.

I had to get out of there and let Thomas finish up. I was so happy when I got back to my lil world inside the car. 😂🤣😂

I don’t shop there EVER! 😂😂😂 I use the optical department and that’s it. But Thomas needed something for one of his teachers that you can only get there. I’ve done my 5 or 10 year excursion into Costco now! I’m good!

Definitely a trip! It’s like a circus show of horrors!

WooHoo! I should get out of my home office more often!! Just returned from Toastmasters and the Post Office with 2 lovely donations for Different iz Good . . . Spread the Word that will more than cover the remainder of what’s needed for 6 yr old Elizebeth! She will get her “voice” in time for Christmas y’all! WooHoo!!!! I’m so grateful!!
