Driving home Thomas was being grumpy and said he’s so mad at himself. Then he says, “I know what you will say.” Then he says to himself what I would normally say to him in this situation. Then he says something else and he knows what I’ll say about that. And then he says to himself what I would normally say to him in this situation. I was trying not to laugh out loud as my heart was truly touched. Then, he asks, “Well, aren’t you going to say anything?”. Told him I wasn’t as he had just said it for me. He says, “Yes, but I like hearing it from you.” I had a conversation with him and didn’t even open my mouth! HA! LOVE …. xoxo

Still email purging. Good Gosh! I’m embarrassed to say how many emails I had piled up. If you never heard back from me over the years, Oops! I was nearing 5,000 emails! Had emails all the way back to 2010! At least I’m finding some Good-to-Read-Again emails and some fun one’s from Lillian like this one from August 2011:

“Weed Rackets, You might ask what are Weed Rackets? So I will explain it. There is weeds, right? And (tennis) rackets,right?”

Another cool find in the GREAT EMAIL PURGE of 2013!! This one’s from a year or two ago. Newspaper clipping from the 1974 Manning Family Reunion! These people didn’t mess around. They ran these family reunions like a business. I was at this one but was only 4 years old so don’t remember it. My Mammaw is the 3rd one from the left in the back with glasses on … That Manning Family took these Reunions seriously!!

Once upon a time there was someone named Patty’s Love was sweet but one day she became sick and Romano’s could not be kind and gentle without her, plus 1 day the Romano’s chimed the butterfly chimes then came up with a idea so they made her lunch and Patty’s Love was better.”

Dinner date with Thomas tonight. Pisces Sushi with deep, rich conversation. Those conversations where you realize you made many good choices, with just a few not so good, during the past 17+ years.

Raising Thomas and Lillian alone, with no other parental involvement has been one of the most important, the toughest, and most rewarding things I have ever done.

I mean, how did I do so many things right, when I wasn’t even sure what the hell I was doing? Thomas has so much empathy and compassion for others, with a deep, true understanding of the nature of life and local and global issues. Blows my mind! 💗💗💗

I’m happy, grateful, and a bit relieved to be at this stage of the parenting journey.

I cherish these soul nourishing, conversation-filled dates, as the time approaches when I fully hand the wheel to Thomas for the next chapter of their life. 🖤🖤🖤
