Walking to School – A Story from Northern Ireland
A book inspired by happenings in Belfast, Northern Ireland’s major city, in the early to mid 2000’s. The conflict between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland is centuries old.
A peace accord was agreed to in June of 2007. This is a fictional tale of what some children were experiencing during that time.

The Little Piano Girl
The story of a little girl who loved music more than anything in the world. Mary Lou Williams began playing the keyboard at just four years old. When she was eight she became a professional musician.
“Jazz is created in the mind, felt in the heart, and heard through the fingertips.” Mary Lou liked to say.
We loved this story of a young girl that never lost sight or touch with what she knew and loved in her heart.
March 4 2018:
Liang and the Magic Paintbrush
An older DEMI book … from 1980. Yet, still so good.
This one is about a poor boy who receives a magic paintbrush and uses it for good deeds. This was before the illustrations in her books became so much more vivid with color. The illustrations are still amazing with beautiful detail.
Who Stole the Mona Lisa?
A really fun book about how the Mona Lisa came to be and how she was stolen … and eventually returned to her home at the museum. Fun illustrations to match too!
October 23 2016:
…. And, coming in 2017 at the South Valleys Library’s rotating art gallery ….. a Team TLC showing. I think it will be their first family showing!! The date will not be set until we reach 2017 so we’ll share when we know.
Featuring a few of Thomas’ photographs from his book, Lillian’s abstract art (and her book if it’s ready by then), and we shall see what appears from me.

Library day! One of my most favorite days! I just love walking the aisles, having my eye caught by a title, pulling it from the shelf, opening it, and the feeling of excitement when it’s the one. Love, love, love. xoxo
