Throwback Post: Purge Fest While Swimming in Reno With the Sibling Panel

Another Summer Sunday of the #TeamTLC #purge and clean fest is coming to an end with the garage checked off!

Five years is long enough for the beautiful tea set I got in England back in 2000 and the set of China from my mammaw Downs. Bringing em out to play! What the heck good are they doing packed up where no one can enjoy them? Don’t give a flying pickle if they get broken … they are just dishes, after all. Getting rid of the 2nd set of dishes we have been using. Goodwill will put them to good use! Love it when I’m in the mood to get rid of stuff!

Just got done with the Sibling Panel at the Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society Conference ~ what an awesome group of kids, teens and young adults ~ Cream of the crop ~ Words can’t even describe the emotions ~ Absolutely must start bringing Thomas to this conference too! Beautiful!

This flock of geese had early morning grocery shopping on their to do list today.

It was library volunteer afternoon yesterday for me and Lillian. We always love the display of creative pumpkins. 🎃👻🎃

Our community treated us to dinner tonight! Look at this amazing, heaping vegan plate they made for me. I emailed them yesterday to see if they had any vegan options.

The owner thanked me for reaching out, saying she would make me grilled hot Italian impossible sausages, with peppers and onions, and a side of their cilantro lime coleslaw. It was so dang good! Thank you Bone Appetit Bar-b-Que Grill!

 

Throwback Post: Bowling for Team TLC

Bowling for Team TLC today! We only go once or twice a year so we’ve got no clue what we’re doing!

This is so nostalgic for me. I used to go once a week with my cousins when I was in high school as my Aunt Carolyn was in a league. We had so much fun goofing off while she bowled!


Bowling this afternoon with Thomas and Lillian. Complete with me falling on my behind cause I went over the foul line, coming home to a big storm and the electricity being out for about 2 hours, and ending with a great walk with both Thomas and Lillian.

A beautiful, grounding walk where we watched clouds and the colors of the sky and threw leaves in the wind to watch them blow. I tucked two happy little people into bed tonight.

Such little things can mean the world. And, in my opinion, ARE the world. Sweet dreams y’all. I’ve had 3 nights of not sleeping well. I’m gonna sleep like a baby tonight! xoxo

Moving and Vacuum Cleaner Tip: When moving and you decide to throw out the vacuum bag before storing the vacuum, it’s a very good idea to remember that the vacuum doesn’t have a bag inside of it ….. BEFORE you use it on several different occasions. That was not a lovely site AND job to clean up! Yet, it was a great learning opportunity! HA!

Just heard a song that brought back warm and fuzzy memories of my Mammaw & Arthur Mann.

After my step-grandpa, Arthur, retired from construction work in Nigeria, they weren’t ready to settle down and still wanted to travel. So they took on the task of motel management … they were at a different location about every 6 months. It was such fun to visit them while they were doing this.

One of their front desk employees when they were in Helena, Montana was also a DJ. Guess hearing this song by Michael Jackson that he dedicated to me on one of his DJ’ing shifts brought these fun memories to the surface!!

Miss talking and visiting with y’all and love the memories we created!

I love this man (Frank Romano) to pieces!! Best darn step-dad in the whole entire world!!! We have definitely had some amazing, fun and hilarious adventures fer sure! Looking forward to these new adventures with he and my Mama!

The countdown is on, 45 days until retirement! Then on to new adventures in Las Vegas in the Sun City Summerlin community. Looking forward to both. It will be hard to leave Reno, and our family and friends here, but you’ve got to keep moving forward and seek out new adventures. Planning on doing some traveling once we get settled, so will try to get by and see all of our friends and family everywhere. Not going to sit still for my retirement. This is the time to live!
