Beautiful, gorgeous, amazing, magical sunset last night! Lillian broke in her new snow boots! Thank you tons to her mammaw for finding her some!

Still working on creating the “asking for help” blog post … Hope to post it by Friday. Here’s a snippet so far … “This is taking every ounce of courage I’ve got in me. I rarely ask for help for myself. Perhaps I’ve been saving it up for a big whopper! I’m asking now. I am moved by something larger than my ego to do this ….”

Contacting Authors of Books

Y’all remember a few times that I’ve posted about how Lillian likes to email/contact the authors of books she reads and the books we read before bed too. Tonight we read “Frightful’s Daughter” by the same author who wrote “My Side of the Mountain”. Lillian emailed Jean George right afterwards to tell her how much we liked it.

She just got an email from Jean’s son, Craig, that Jean had passed in 2012 and that they leave the website up for her fans. He says that was his favorite book, too, of the 118 that his mom wrote. Lillian got an email back the other day from an author that she had made her day. I’m so happy Lillian does this. It warms my heart!

Tight Heel Cords and Heel Toe Movement

Still following through with the once per week solo hanging out at the lodge for Lillian. I walk her over and she spends 5 minutes on the treadmill.

Still working on that darn heel toe movement when walking and standing up straight. The goal is to keep increasing the minutes. We started at 3 minutes!

Amelia’s Angel Visit by Lillian Darnell

Lillian’s class participated in NaNoWriMo and she chose to write a collection of short stories. Reading her notebook brought “sweat” to my eyes … xoxo … Here’s one of them:

Amelia’s Angel Visit
Written: Lillian

Once upon a time, Amelia’s prince had died and Amelia was a poor queen but one night, Amelia had been visited by Amelia’s prince angel. He had said,

“Respect all other angels like you do with me.”

And so her father, stepmother, stepsisters, and their princes’ angels came along with Amelia’s prince angel and they had said,

“Keep your confidence and hopefully you will strengthen your courage.”

Then one night they stopped visiting and left Amelia alone because she had enough courage to be super-duper happy. To this day, she’ll tell you to keep confidence and you will soon build up courage to be super-duper happy.

Matte vs Glossy …… I like matte. Thomas prefers glossy. Lillian Darnell likes glossy. It’s her book! Glossy it is!!

Placing our first order tonight or tomorrow. Just waiting for one wee little change to the cover. Changing font color to white on the spine so it stands out when on the shelf amongst other book lovelies!

Best Time for a Post Office Trip and Let’s Go Swimming

The best time to make a post office trip: 10:30 at night! One Biggest Little Photographer book on the way to Virginia!! Have fun Mr. Minifigure man!

We also found out how many times we can drive around the round-a-bout before feeling dizzy. Four. That’s it!

December 15 2017:

Homeschool swimming day at Carson Valley Swim Center! Thomas is having a great time! What a fun place and a beautiful drive to get here too. Lillian opted for some quiet alone time as it’s kind of overwhelming in here.

Just seeing her writings in book form is a success for me. What a process creating a book is when doing it all oneself (except for the hard work our angel book designer has put into it)! I really enjoy the creation process and can’t wait to get that first shipment!!
