I agree with you Rachel Jane Flower … A cold swim is invigorating, refreshing, and gets the creative juices flowing. Had an amazing swim and then came home and created a yummy dinner! Rice pasta with butter sautéed chicken and shiitake mushrooms with leftover pumpkin soup drizzled on top. Yum!!

When you run out of patience for the snow, you make the 10 minute drive up Mt. Rose. Today’s walk was in Winter Wonderland, finding a couple of hills for Thomas to sled down. The quiet of a snow covered forest is pure bliss, calming, like a magical nature hug. ❄️💙💙💙❄️

So that Lillian could see the rare double planet conjunction before it’s gone, we opened a couple of gifts this morning. She got astronomy binoculars with a tripod stand. These are the hugest binoculars I’ve ever seen! We can see the trees on Mt Rose!!

I needed time to figure it all out before the rarity is finished! 🤣😂 Thomas got a brand new phone. He’s always used hand me down phones, and his was about to completely die! Yay!!! 💚💚💚🎄🎄🎄❤️❤️❤️

Huge binoculars!!! I’ve got to get the tripod set up so we can adjust the focus. They’re hard to hold completely still with your hands. Lillian definitely wouldn’t be able to hold them. We’re so excited to see the moon and the Christmas star!! I researched pros and cons between astrology binoculars and telescopes, and decided these would be better for her. 🌚 ✨ 🪐

Lillian has wanted a telescope for about 5 or 6 years. I’m thrilled to be able to finally get her something to look closer at the planets and stars! You can find some great articles online comparing the two. Honestly, I needed something I could figure out, also. I haven’t had much luck with telescopes!!

The Victrola Arrived – Birthday Gift for Thomas

Thomas’s turntable arrived today. He chose to use birthday money from my dad to get this. Thomas told me I could pick out the style, and he chose the color. What fun that was! It’s also an FM radio. 🖤🎶 🎼 🎵🖤

The one problem with being a minimalist, having gotten rid of many possessions …. I got rid of all my albums, except for one lone 45, “Hang on Sloopy” by The McCoys. 🤣😂🤣 Now I must go dig it out of the closet so Thomas can give it a whirl.

We had an intimate, masked, socially distanced celebration with The Romano Duo and Robert, graced with absolutely divine vegan cupcakes from Batch Cupcakery. I took my selfie after everyone left! Ha!
Thomas received some great gifts!

A basketball, volleyball (so we can use the great courts here), a shirt, a hoodie, a desk chair, a homemade card from Lillian, a turntable, an album, and a photo book of our date days over the past year. I still need to make a homemade card or poem for him.

Thomas asked me earlier what time I went to bed last night. I told him and we went about our business. A little bit later he came over and helped me wash the dishes and then cleaned the stove and told me he wanted to help so I could go to bed earlier …. I am blessed times 500 million and beyond that I get to be this little person’s Mama!! xoxo

I so much LOVE seeing him embrace all the GOOD that life has to offer and my wish is that he continues to do so and never loses sight of it.
