Throwback Post: Gratitude With Black Eyed Peas and Kielbasa

December 30 2013:

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you …. from Team TLC! “Generosity brings happiness at every stage of its expression” from a book I’m reading right now titled, “Invisible Acts of Power” by Caroline Myss. Great book! …. and this quote too, “We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” -E. E. Cummings … Oceans and Oceans of gratitude and love! xoxo

I’m going out to throw snowballs with a young man who shines so brightly! YAY!! So blessed I get to be Thomas’ Mom!! I’ll probably last 10 minutes before my face freezes!

December 30 2011:

Just got home with the ham hocks and black eyed peas for News Years Day!! My Momma would disown me if I didn’t have that on the 1st! Thomas and Lillian eat an obligatory one pea and chow down on the ham hocks! Now if we could just get that Star Trek transporter thingy workin, she could transport me some of her cornbread . . .

Thank you Maria Kendzierski Barber for letting me come to your house and interview and observe you and Lila and little sister Nora as part of the final project for my certification as a Special Needs Life Coach! Both Lila and Nora are adorable and have wonderful personalities! You are an amazing, kind, patient and persevering Mom . . . Bless you for that Maria! Happy New Year to the Barber family!!!

Throwback Post: Kindness With a Chromosome Lesson While Sharing Gratitude

July 20 2015:

One of my most favorite quotes in a great book we received today!! Sam is a C18 buddy who has 18q-. YAY Monica Tello McDivitt!!! Can’t wait to meet you and Sam face to face next year in San Antonio!!

Went to Trader Joe’s today to stock up on food for the Chromosome 18 Conference. Since we’re driving this year, we get to take our own food! YAY! Thomas told the cashier about our plans and she wanted to know all about a chromosome 18 conference. Got to give another person a mini chromosome lesson. Always seems to be the cashiers at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods who ask to know more. So friendly!! Here we are at the 2013 conference farewell dinner. xoxo

July 20 2011:

I suggested to Thomas and Lillian that we make a poster to thank the organizations and people that made it possible for us to attend the Chromosome 18 Conference. They took the initiative and each wrote a blog post too! They bless me tons and tons!

Easter 2020 – Team TLC and The Romano Duo – Sort Of

April 12 2020

Here’s to a lovely day!

I just received this photo from The Romano Duo and it hit me with all the feels, causing my eyes to pool with liquid joy, love, laughter, and sadness … all at the same time. (Do you see Team TLC’s photos? HA! They are so fun!)

We are so happy we got to see them in person yesterday, as we stood on the 2nd floor patio, and they stayed down below outside the front door. That was fun and wonderful! (They brought chairs and sat down in the shade. Ha!)

I am incredibly thankful to be healthy, to have food, a beautiful place to live, that Thomas, Lillian and I are together, and that we share this life together.

For many years I have written morning pages/ journal writing, and for the past month I have been closing with 3 things for which I am grateful. It’s a powerful practice if anyone would like to try it. Don’t just list what you’re grateful for, expand on it with why you are grateful. You just may feel your shoulders relax, your jaw unclench, and feel a tad bit lighter afterwards. Sending oceans of love to all … xoxo

We Are Surrounded By Good

May 2 2014:

I awoke this morning with a heart open to all the good that surrounds me. After our love and hug conversation at breakfast we left to take Thomas and Lillian to school. I decided I was gonna listen to some music on the way. Turned on the radio and “Best Day of My Life” was playing … Blow my mind!! Then happy, fun songs one right after another! Dropped Lillian off and told her to have fun having the best day of her life. Dropped Thomas off and told him to have the time of his life sharing love.

At the grocery store a lovely grandfatherly gentlemen stopped me on the aisle and said “That’s a very special dress you have on.” I told him “Thank you …… And so are YOU!” Beautiful sweet man was speechless.

Last stop was the bank to get a cashier’s check. The teller asked me if I wanted to withdraw any money from my account. I told her no, unless it was coming from somewhere else … with a smile and a giggle. After a few seconds checked my phone for texts and I had a text that I’d received money deposited into another account … that I did not know was coming … Without knowing it I said something out loud and she asked if I had a question. I said “No, I really did just receive money. Ask and you shall receive!” My eyes almost sweated right there in the bank!

Then, after Thomas’ vaulting lessons tonight Team TLC stopped at little Washoe Lake for some rock throwing and skipping! I love LOVE! Best Day Of My Life Indeed! Plan on having another tomorrow! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Delicious and Yummy and Physical Healing and Gratitude and Independence and Micro Greens and Eye Sweatin

December 31 2019:

Finally had one of these yesterday. After brewing a cup of Peruvian extra dark roast coffee; I placed one of these beautiful wafers atop the cup for a few minutes as Jessica and Marten had explained.

And then … As I bit into this piece of pure heaven, I was saturated with the ooey gooey good feelings one has when savoring a delicious food!! Oh my yum!! Thank you again Jessica and Marten!! 💖💝💖💝💖💝

January 1 2019:

The tree makes for fabulous background for picture taking …. Heehee!

Had to take a picture of this glorious yummy frozen dessert that I treated Thomas and I too yesterday. Vegan Double Chocolate Delight made with cashew milk. Good grief! That’s good stuff! And I just noticed it’s between the snowman and the snowflake … Perfect!!

January 3 2019:

As I wait for the feeling to come back on the left side of my face … Another shout out to those that helped make this procedure possible. Oceans and oceans of gratitude …. 🙏

Hard to believe that little hole was causing so much discomfort. Turns out there was a deep cavity there. New crown being made that fully covers the area so this doesn’t happen again.

Whenever it’s doable, next up is a few gum line cavities and the only other crown I’ve got needs to be replaced as it’s got a pretty big hole. That one doesn’t hurt as I have no roots in that tooth.

2019 seems to be beginning with the theme of physical healing. I’ll take that!!! 🎉🎉🎉💖💖💖

January 5 2019:

Still at it. Almost once per week, 10 minute walk on the treadmill followed by independent time at the lodge. 💞💞💞

January 5 2019:

I feel it’s no coincidence that micro greens are heart shaped. They’re incredibly good for us. Yum, yum!

Yet, thought it so cute how this one propped itself perfectly for me to see. Love, the micro greens. 💚

January 5 2019:

I made fresh pico de gallo tonight to go with our tradition of every other Saturday nacho dinner.

Thomas had finished eating, Lillian was in the bathtub. And, I was alone chewing my nachos. A wave of emotions hit me like I imagine a tsunami wave hits land.

My eyes began to sweat with liquid gratitude for the miracle occurring in my mouth. I was chewing the nachos on BOTH sides of my mouth. I have not been able to do that in about 2 years. I’ve had to chew crunchy foods on the right side only.

I’m aware this sounds silly to some. Yet, this post is not for you. It’s for me and others who are stricken with gratitude, bliss, and joy over seemingly small things.

I alternated between laughter and eyes sweating the entire meal. I realized I had been given back something more than being able to chew certain foods using ALL of my teeth.

This had nothing to do with sadness. This was pure joy, gratitude, bliss, peace, reassurance, and LOVE. And that pico de gallo was damn good! ❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️
