S’mores!

I felt like having this for lunch today. So, I did. Ha! Crispy crunchy okra, Miyoko’s cultured farmhouse “cheddar”, tomatoes with Himalayan pink salt and pepper, kalamata olives, marinated artichoke quarters, pugliese artisan bread with milkadamia buttery spread, sweet cherries, truffle Marcona almonds, and sweet & spicy pecans …. Can you tell I had just gotten back from grocery shopping? This was incredibly satisfying.

Amazing socially distanced hike around Spooner Lake, organized by Tahoe Herbivores. Walked a couple of miles, sat for lunch, and then another mile. Incredibly beautiful and peaceful. My first time here, so lots of photos.

Cloud update. These are from yesterday afternoon. It seriously feels as if we’re at an art showing, with nature changing the art every few seconds.

What a gift to receive this morning before leaving for my hike! I was in tears. Thank you, Bill!
In Words of Alchemy, Camilla Downs invites you to walk with her to share her love of Nature and Life through a free-verse poetry memoir. During her daily strolls she is mindfully present as she delves into life in the raw and experiences her heart’s observations. Camilla embraces what happens when she opens her heart and invites the written words to flow.
Camilla Downs is a powerhouse – a one-person publishing house, selfless promoter of fellow authors, bestseller, blogger, photographer, and mom – the order of which is not prioritized. I met Camilla through online authors’ networks. We swapped books, as you do. And I immediately fell for her story – relatable, inspiring – facing challenges, overcoming obstacles, and being a role model. In other words, a good person. A person who, among other things, fuels her creativity and capacity to give by immersing herself into landscapes – communing with the outdoors, shooting photos, and writing about all of it.

**THROWBACK POST**
December 6 2014:
Team TLC movie night. Magical and inspiring! “When you first become an artist you’re like a geode. You’re in a raw natural state with hidden gems inside. You have to dig down deep and find the emeralds tucked away inside you. And that’s just the beginning. Once you find your gems you have to polish them.” Great movie!!

Extra movie night for me (and Thomas joined this time): “Burden”
Based on a powerful true story, in 1996, South Carolina. Forest Whitaker and Garrett Hedlund were excellent and true to their characters. Another brain exploding WTF!!?? Yet, also a story of love and redemption …
Thomas says, “It was good.”

It was a s’mores kinda afternoon. So good. What a delicious treat.

This afternoon called for comfort food. Totally tomato soup courtesy of Great Full Gardens South Meadows Reno. Grilled cheese made by me, with Ciabatta and Violife smoked provolone slices. Then a nice rest on the couch. Ahhhhh …

Lillian and Camilla July 2020 Date Day
Fries and a smiley face sugar cookie for her. Peanut Udon Noodle Salad with a peanut ginger dressing and trail mix cookie for me.
Plus, a lovely walk at Wilbur May Arboretum.
A lovely walk at Wilbur May Arboretum. It’s hard not to take a hundred photos at this beautiful place. Nature held space for us to have some sobering conversations about relationships. Which is why I included the serious face photo. Ha!
Closing with an after sunset walk with more difficult discussions. Nature is the perfect setting for this.
