This was written over 2 months ago, on September 28 2019. If you follow me and my writings, you’ll know I have been incredibly busy these past few months with this nightmarish move, finishing my book, Words of Alchemy, maintaining MeetingtheAuthors.com, and parenting.

It has taken a while to come back around to this and publish it. The above being one reason. Another reason is that I needed to allow space. The event that brought forth this one, brought with it strong and deep emotions. I am well past it at this point, having allowed myself to sit with it and feel it. May it be meaningful to you or someone you know.

Movie Night: The Sound of Music

Team TLC extra movie night – “The Sound of Music” – Lillian likes to watch this every December.

Lillian says, “Good, my favorite character is Maria, musical, my favorite part is either the wedding or the opening scene of “The Hills are Alive with Music”, good to watch any time of the year, and I recommend 100%.”

I say, “Lovely movie about a deeply sad time in history. I’m with Lillian on that opening scene. Wonderful.”

Thomas says, “I like it.”

Lillian and Camilla December 2019 Date Day

First stop: A walk around the lake. Pretty cool clouds.

Second stop: Lots of window shopping.

Third stop: French fries and chocolate covered peppermint topped Cooke for Lillian. Fries and a vegan soft sandwich cookie for me.

Last stop: More window shopping. Lillian says that i need this pillow … or at least the word on the pillow. Yes, yes. I’m tired, grumpy, and overwhelmed.

I say, “Wonderful, warm story about believing and having faith. Love watching this every year with Thomas and Lillian.”

Lillian says, “Good, suspenseful, liked the music, and my favorite character is Ashley, the fairy.

I say, “Loved this movie. Magic, fantasy, and Celtic mythology unite with the power of imagination and artistic vision to illuminate darkness. Wonderful!”

Thomas says, “It was good.”

The Sparkly, Shiny, Mindful Christmas Tree of 2019

Spent late afternoon until just now getting decorations out. Tree is up, need more lights before we decorate it. Learned this morning that we will be in the temporary place until beginning of January. Huge thank you to Frank and my brother for driving from Dayton to help me unbury the Holiday decorations and find the tree.

December 7 2019:

Finally got the tree decorated last night, sans the topper as we need a new one. We were without internet from 4:30 yesterday afternoon until about 30 minutes ago. It was an opportunity to focus on other tasks and creativity for me, with a huge opportunity for Lillian as this was a disruption to her normal schedule. Minus a few rough patches, she handled it pretty good, even asking me to tell her a story last night. That hasn’t happened in years. Felt good, for all of us.

December 12 2019:

Finally got the advent calendars up. Thomas and Lillian made these about 10 years ago. Each day has a quote of special meaning and a mindful activity from my Mindful Christmas Countdown. Plus, they get their choice of a yummy treat.

December 14 2019:

Figured out a topper for the tree! Our star broke last year. We already had the Santa hat, plus, it’s fun! Lillian and I had the idea about the same time so I knew it was to be.

Proofing the Digital Version and Proof Ordered – Words of Alchemy

Creative Gift Giving on Just the Positive

I recently offered a suggestion to a wonderful and uplifting gift giving blog post on Just the Positive. Warmed my heart to see my suggestion of writing a special poem and using upcycled materials to make into a wall hanger (along with many other suggestions from others), including two photos of last year’s gifts.
