Lillian and Camilla August 2019 Date Day

August 16 2019:

Lillian and Camilla August 2019 Date Day

First stop: Fries and pretty in purple sugar cookie for Lillian. Tahini Broccolini with a Neapolitan cupcake for me. Yum!!

Second stop: Browsing at one of her favorite stores. You should have heard what Bones said to me!!! 😱💀He was just joking, though, and we moved past it.

Last stop: Bartley Ranch – We had planned on Audrey Harris Park but it was closed due to a performance. So, we found this sweet lil spot, read for a bit, and ended with photos and playing with shadows and trees.

Book Musings: Pablo Neruda – Poet of the People

Pablo Neruda – Poet of the People

In this colorfully illustrated book we learned about Pablo Neruda, born in Parral, Chili, in 1904. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971. He and his poems inspire people to love and to make their voices heard. We enjoyed learning about this wonderful Poet of the People!

Movie Night: Lincoln

August 10 2019:

Team TLC Movie Night – My choice: “Lincoln”

I say, “I mean. I have no words. Well. One. Powerful.”

“A house divided against itself cannot stand.” -Abraham Lincoln

Thomas says, “I like it. The music was good.”

The score for this movie is by John Williams … explains why Thomas liked it!

Lillian sat this one out.

Third Time Has Got To Be The Charm

August 10 2019:

Third time has got to be the charm! The past two summers I have begun packing to get us moved … And, we didn’t move! 😳😂 Just could not find a place for us to move with the growth and housing shortage here. This time, we know where we’re going. I get to see the inside of our new place on Monday.

We aren’t going far … just about 5 minutes from where we are now. Moving to a tad larger place; from this one bedroom/one bath to a two bedroom/two bath.

Thomas and Lillian will finally get to have their own space again! And, hallelujah to two bathrooms! It happens around September 9th – unless we have some sort of miracle and can move into a larger place here. Let the packing begin .. Again!! 😂💜 (photos from 2016)

**Update** The move got bumped to September 16th, due to a delay with NVE turning on the electricity!

Something really cool happened on Friday, 8.2, with the Meeting the Authors website. Record views for a single day had been 100 from when the website launched about 3 months ago. On Friday, views reached 109! Screenshot shows 103. I forgot to take another before going to bed.

August 6 2019:

My new favorite cheese! It’s called Violife and I made creamy macaroni and cheese with the smoked provolone. Can’t wait to try the other flavors.

Book Musings: A Swiftly Tilting Planet

A Swiftly Tilting Planet by Madeleine L’Engle

The third in the time quintet series, I began to get confused with who was who! I enjoyed reading it all the same, and it seems as though the foundation of the story continues to be similar as the first two. A Wrinkle in Time, the first of the quintet, remains my favorite. Onward to the fourth book, Many Waters …. maybe!
