Deeply Relaxing When the Bath Water Meets a Peanut Butter Cookie

April 3 2020

Something I find deeply relaxing. Not just a nearly too hot, epsom salt soak. That paired with this ….

The sound of the water as it fills the tub, the sound of the water as I ease into it, the sound of the water when I move around, the gurgling sound as the water drains through the overflow, the plopping sound of the water as it drips from the faucet landing in the tub water, the smell of the water, the silky feel of it against my skin, the feel of the tiny bubbles as they glide across my legs, and finally the sound of the water as it drains from the tub. Ahhhh …. off to dream land now.

April 5 2020

Seriously, y’all! I had just cleaned it, the water was beautiful and clear, I went in to check it, eating said chocolate chip peanut butter cookie, leaned over the tub as I took a bite, and there it went. A mid-size crumb, smack down into my pristine, beautiful tub of water. I mean. Who does such silly crap?

An Interview with Clare Rhoden – Why Writing is Important to Me

March 30 2020

Why is writing important to me and what five words best describe my writing style? That and more in this great interview with fellow author, Clare Rhoden. I’m grateful to Clare for putting together such thoughtful questions ….

Welcome, Camilla, and thanks for speaking with me on Last Word of the Week. Why is writing important to you?

Writing has been a sanity saving bridge, in processing life experiences, in being a single parent, in being a parent to a special needs child, in making decisions. Writing has been my way of sharing what I’m experiencing, getting it out of my head, being comforted, assured, cheered on, and, at times, receiving direction.

It’s definitely a two-way street. What’s the best response you’ve ever had to your writing?

The best response is a compilation of the responses in which others share how my writings have inspired or helped them in some way. There’s nothing better than receiving a message or review that lets me know that my writing was useful to someone.

What five words would best describe your style?

Wild, unfiltered, from the heart.

Delightful! Do you write for yourself or for a particular audience?

To date, I have always written for myself. Writing is how I process and experience life. The feedback received when sharing what I write is what encouraged me to pursue publishing the content ….. Follow the link below to read further …

Shake Your Booty – Dancing Before Dinner

March 24 2020

I didn’t feel like going for a walk in this wind, so stayed home and had a dance party, looking out the window while dancing. Close enough!!

I heard them say, “Shake Your Booty”, so I put on my Boogie Shoes, became a Dancing Queen, pretended it was September, and felt my body Staying Alive! Whew!! That was FUN!! Now, I shall cook dinner.

Poetic Clouds With New Discoveries While Hugging Trees and Nature Leads the Way

Today’s walk with Thomas. A new to us walk. Plus, we discovered this great looking sport called Disc Golf. Looks fun!

We’ve been inside since Saturday, and will only be going out for walks. Lillian’s immune system is weaker than mine and Thomas’s and I want to do our part to keep this from spreading. Will have to figure out what to do about groceries near the end of the week. Sending love to all ….

I had never heard of disc golf. There happened to be two men there playing it, and from across the ditch I asked him to tell me about it. It’s got the same sort of strategy as golf, yet, you use frisbee like disks of varying weights and sizes. Tossing them from a distance into standing “baskets”. It looked fun!

The guy I talked with just happened to be the one who founded this course and set it up three years ago. It’s near South Valleys Park and Library (Reno, NV), in what looks like a huge ditch. I had heard there was a walking trail there, so that’s why we were there. Now if you walk, you’ve got to mind the space above your head for flying discs!! He said I could get a beginner kit at a sporting goods store. Now you know what disc golf is … in my laymen description anyway …

Maybe this afternoons walk wasn’t such a good idea. My legs and hands are still frozen. However, I hugged a tree and found some love along the way!! Trees are GREAT huggers!

Overflowing With Gratitude – Loving Kindness in Action Followed by Quaking and Rolling

March 20 2020

Overflowing with gratitude for a beautiful human who made a grocery store run for us. I went grocery shopping last week BEFORE the craziness began, and it was just a regular weekly trip. So, we were running out of things.

Except for walks, we’ve not left the house since Saturday. Lillian has a weak immune system so best to stay home. Incredibly grateful for your kindness, Constance Aguilar!!! Team TLC thanks you!!!

And … how about an earthquake to go along with dinner tonight? Sure …

It was big for this area (5.0), but, I don’t think there was damage anywhere. It’s just the most unsettling feeling. It always takes me a bit to get my equilibrium settled. Lillian felt it the most, Thomas didn’t feel a dam* thing (HA!), and I felt it, but what got my attention was the loud noise the 3 big windows in the living room made! Hugs to you!! xoxo

Thank you Toilet Paper Faeries!! Who knew there were faeries for TP? Well, there are and we are grateful to all of you. We’re also good with toilet paper now. Deeply grateful and incredibly blessed by your thoughtfulness and kindness. 🙏♥️♥️♥️🙏 A photo of the sky as I chatted with the faeries.

**Update April 4, 2020: We’ve had another trip to Trader Joe’s by different friend, in addition to using Insta Cart. We are incredibly thankful and deeply blessed.

What Advice Would I Give for Writing Poems – Interview on Shaz’s Book Blog

March 14 2020

Thank you to wonderful book blogger, Sharon, for having me on her beautiful blog … I’d be incredibly grateful for you to check it out, if you have the time … Each one of these amazing bloggers is asking such thoughtful and different questions ..

” …. What advice would you give to someone who would like to try writing poems?

I’m not sure I’m one to hand out advice on writing poetry, since my experience was quite different. Except to say, if you want to write a specific style of poetry, to read as many books of poetry in that style as you can get your hands on. Read them until they soak through to your very core, until you’re sweating, bleeding, crying, laughing poetry of that style. HA! Whether you want to write free-verse or a specific style, write daily … ”
