One of our sweet Chromosome 18 friends is doing a research project on Chromosome 18 affected individuals and their family for school and asked us to participate. Here’s my contribution … being interviewed regarding how it feels to be a parent to Lillian (who has 18p-)! Go Courtney MacMasters Go! Courtney is sibling to one of our C18 affected friends!
April 8 2017:
Team TLC movie night – My choice: “Whale Rider” –
I say, “A wonderful, magical, and inspiring story about listening to the knowing of the heart …. and following it no matter what.”
Thomas says, “Good, interesting, story line good, plot twist cool, and original idea.”
Lillian says, “Good, better than expected, emotional, and 50% recommended.”
March 26 2017:
Windy and cold, cold, cold sunset walk with Lillian yesterday.
She has random aches and pains. Her knee started aching and I told her we could head back if she needed. Her response, “No, I’m not gonna let this knee stop me.” xoxo
March 28 2017:
Frisbee and a really long walk at one of our favorite spots.
March 31 2017:
Great walk with Thomas this afternoon. This time spent walking, talking, laughing, being silly, and many times in complete silence; is incredibly meaningful to me. xoxo

Just finished reading a book with Lillian and Thomas about Ira Aldridge ….
One of the greatest Shakespearean actors of the nineteenth century.

When I posted a few days ago asking for keys, I had no idea we’d be gifted these beauties! WOW!!! Thank you Matthew McDowell!!
If you have no longer used keys, we’ll take them. They don’t have to be fancy like these. Plain ole keys will work too!!
We are in creation mode and will be combining these with other recycled items and a bit of natures gifts. I think we’re finally ready to start making! Earth Art!! xoxo
March 29 2017:
Lillian and Camilla March 2017 Date Day – First stop: Stoneage to ooh and ahh over the lovely crystals gemstones.
Then the hobby store for more window shopping and super glue. Next, picking out a yummy dessert.
Made our way home to have dessert and then lunch. Yum!! A sparkly Easter themed cookie for Lillian and a vegan apple cinnamon muffin for me.
Ending our date with a beautiful and warm walk. xoxo

February 24 2014:
A couple of weeks ago Lillian asked me what my Mom and I had been talking about earlier in the day. I told her that we were talking about how things weren’t going as planned. She said to me,
“You’ve got to just make the best of it.”
Told her she was right on about that and that I’d already been inspired with a new plan … Came to me after Thomas and I went for a walk in the rain. I am so inspired when Lillian mirrors my own advice back to me ……
And, since this happened, things didn’t go as planned once again and I, yet again, was inspired with a new plan! I am certainly learning some valuable life lessons about expectations and patience in the last couple of months! Learning, Growing and Lovin’! Yahooo!
March 21 2017:
Today’s rainy and windy weather was the perfect day for an adventure!! We’ve not been to the movie theater in about two years! Bonus: Sunshine greeted us as we emerged from the dark theater. Yay!!
March 24 2017:
Lillian was creating doodle art last night and asked me to join her. Felt so good and inspired me so much that I wrote a poem too! Thank you Lillian!
March 25 2017:
Earth hour last night ….. Thomas didn’t want to turn lights back on …. xoxo

Lillian made this for Nevada Day this past October 2012 … I think it rocks so sharing with y’all again!

In honor of World Poetry Day, I’m sharing some of my favorite poems. Beginning with a Renga poem that Team TLC wrote together in September 2015. We wrote the poem in TLC order.
Renga is a genre of Japanese collaborative poetry. Poets work in pairs or small groups, taking turns composing alternating three-line and two-line stanzas. To create a renga, one poet writes the first stanza, which is three lines long. [ 501 more words ]
