Amazon Reviews:

Terri Barfield Craig says, “Camilla and Team TLC’s journey and life lessons, as shared in this book, will inspire you to look beyond limitations and gain new perspectives on what it means and how it feels to be “different”. It will change the way you see life in general. Not only is this book a phenomenal tool and resource for those with special needs children/adults in their lives, but it includes many nuggets of wisdom for the rest of us as well. I highly recommend it!” ….

Thank you tons Terri!!!

Throwback Post: C is for Courage

**THROWBACK POST**

August 11 2015:

I was moved to share this just now …

C is for Courage

“Having courage does not mean that we are unafraid. Having courage and showing courage means that we face our fears. We are able to say, “I have fallen, but I will get up!” – Maya Angelou … My addition to this: I have fallen, and it is okay. I choose not to be unkind to myself because I have fallen. I will use this to learn. ” The journey to acceptance takes courage; courage to face one’s fears; courage to make decisions that others frown upon or downright disagree with; and courage to do things differently. …. I have learned that courage is the golden, secret path to clarity …. ” excerpt from “D iz for Different – One Woman’s Journey to Acceptance” …

May you feel the joy of the sun or peace of a tree today and know that all is well …..

**THROWBACK POST**

September 5 2012:

Thank you tons and tons Kathy for the Amazon review …

“An uplifting and honest book about facing life’s challenges. Teaches you that how you respond to adversity is within your control and that you can still be happy even when circumstances are less than perfect. As the mother of a child with special needs, I really connected with the author. A great read!”

Just finished speaking to Manal’s class of undergrad med students. Sharing a parent’s perspective regarding advocacy and inclusion. Loved it. Thanks tons for asking me Manal!!

May 30 2013:

Thank you to Frank C. Romano Jr of the The Romano Duo for saving the day this morning. I got halfway to driving Thomas and Lillian to school this morning and realized I forgot Lillian’s lunch and Thomas’ snack. Oops! I was headed to speak to Manal’s UNR class straight from T & L’s school. My fabulous step-daddy went to my house, got the lunch and snack and took up to the school for them! YAY! I’m so blessed to have The Romano Duo! Here’s some throwback pictures …. One on the top is from about 1993. One below that is about 1996 or 1997 and bottom one is 1998.

Supported Decision Making and Power of Attorney Paperwork

October 19 2019:

Finished researching this for the most part. Just need to circle back to creating the SDM paperwork with Lillian and paperwork for a Power of Attorney. Hope to do that in between waiting for the book proof. Then on to researching ABLE accounts.

Respite for All of Us

September 18 2019:

It’s been 3 months since I had respite. Lillian just left to spend 3 days with The Romano Duo. I’m always torn as to whether I should take a 3 day nap, madly work through the massive to do list, or do absolutely nothing (but read). Ha!!! It usually ends up being a combination of all of these. Thank you to The Romano Duo!!! …. Love you Lillian!! Enjoy your respite from Thomas and I!

More Research on Supported Decision Making

September 5 2019:

I’ll be immersed in this for the next few days. Thought I could wait a bit longer and come back around to it. However, our move in date to the new place happens 2 days after Lillian turns 18. She will have to sign the lease and/or I’ve got to have this bit figured out.

September 6 2019:

Done reviewing the handouts. Moving on to the websites now. Here are a few slides that stood out for me. 👀 Deeply appreciative to Diana for getting me copies of the slides and handouts as I found out about this workshop on the morning it was to happen.
