Perspective Changes Everything

**THROWBACK POST**

December 12 2015:

Finally got the new belt …. Should’ve checked the roller brush too. Now I’ve got to order one and wait more. Our floor needs vacuumed! Who has a vacuum I can borrow? HA!

What a blessing to have a vacuum! Cause that means we’ve got floors to clean, and floors to clean mean we have a place to live!

Gave me some perspective as I used all my might to stretch the belt on and as my fingers turned black from the dirt in this beast.

Love, sweet love ….

Conversations with Thomas

February 24 2018:

Conversations with Thomas today … The English Channel, The Atlantic Ocean and countries that border it, North Korea, China, Switzerland, facebook and twitter algorithms and bots, and then we watched “Field of Dreams” and had conversations about that.

He loved the movie so much he researched more about it and found the book the movie was based from, Shoeless Joe. All of this in between teasing Lillian and making her yell. Wahooo!!! I am incredibly blessed for the practice of meditation and mindfulness … Love this wonderful and amazing life. xoxo

Book Musings: Right to Write

February 24 2018:

Right to Write

This book and its powerful content was like a walk down a familiar, well-worn, and comforting path welcoming my writer’s soul home. LOVED every single bit of it. This is one I would love to own and have as part of my wee book collection.

Why should we write? For me, this is a powerful book. The author brought together so many of my own feelings and thoughts about writing, why I write, what happens when I write, and that EVERYONE should write.

One doesn’t have to share their writings. Simply the act of writing is healthy and therapeutic.

Cameron shares how writing can be playful, as well as a practical and profound experience. The art of writing will never be the same for you after reading this book.

A GREAT book for any of my writer friends!! And, pretty much anyone who wants to at least begin writing a daily journal for therapeutic reasons …. I’m serious! This is a powerful book!! I just want to hug and squeeze it! xoxo

One Blood Test – One Phone Call – One Moment in Time

The Gift of One Article by Camilla 12.11.15 #1 The Gift of One Article by Camilla 12.11.15 #2

What a magical surprise waiting in the mail today! After it took an HOUR to drive to HDMS to get Thomas this afternoon. It usually takes 12 minutes. Then 30 minutes home as we had to bypass the closed portion of the highway.

It was a blessing to have this waiting in the mail …. along with another envelope with some surprise money for Team TLC. Thank you Veronica Wain for mailing hard copies of the journal. This is the third nudge I’ve received today to share this article again which was published this past fall.

Listening to those nudges … Here’s an excerpt and a link to read the full article. May your heart land on just the right passage at just the right moment …

“One blood test, one phone call, one moment in time, drastically changed the direction of my life forever. I know more about genetics, chromosomes, DNA, motor skills, verbal skills, and now emotional and behavioural issues than I ever thought I would need or want to know. ……. I thought I had life pretty much planned at that point and for a while this brief phone call seemed to have caused my life to break apart like a melting iceberg with pieces scattering here and there. Looking back now, all that was brought into my life, all that occurred, all that began, and all that ended were meant to happen for my own growth and enlightenment. An enlightenment I feel spreads far beyond myself and my family as I believe we are all connected.”

What Does Freedom Mean to You by Camilla Downs

Camilla Feet in the Sand 2017

Do you ever feel like running barefoot and free and howling with the moon?  … Sent with howls of love … xoxo

It is her intent to release the discomfort. She is ready to release it and be free. She is ready to live this life from love instead of fear. She is ready to be free. Free to follow her heart. Free to live in peace and bliss. Free to trust herself. Free to live as much as possible from her true Self. Free to listen.

Free to jump. Free to leap when it speaks to her. Free to write what she’s supposed to write and share. Free to dance. Free to go barefoot in the moonlight. Free to leave footprints in the sand of life’s beach and free to watch them disappear as if they were never there.

Free to experience fully each moment of life with no thoughts of what just happened, what happened yesterday or last week; or thoughts of what comes next or what will happen tomorrow or next week. Free to BE exclusively committed to that which she is immersed in the moment.

Free to sway with the wind. Free to kiss and hug a tree. Free to run her fingers along the tip tops of the grass. Free to take a nap in the sand with toes wiggling and giggling as each piece of sand makes its way through the cracks and crevices of her toes. Some getting stuck to stay for a while and some gliding on through.

Free to smile at all whose eyes hers meet. Free to hug freely and receive hugs freely. Free to let another soul know how much she cares for them without fear of rejection and abandonment. Free to receive unconditional love. Free to give unconditional love. Free to BE unconditional love.

Free to write for …. Go here to read more

Short Story: What Does Freedom Mean to You

I Sat Reading a Book and Ended Up Receiving and Sharing Kindness

**THROWBACK POST**

December 21 2012:

I sat reading a book in the coffee shop this morning while waiting on my friend to arrive. I got up to move to a smaller table and a man sitting nearby said, “I like your boots”. So we started chatting about boots and he showed me his boots. We talked about boots with leather bottoms and boots with rubber bottoms.

He’s got 5 days off and is visiting from Elko, Nevada. He works for one of the mining companies in Elko. I learned about this huge truck he drives that has a 12,000 gallon tank and how the tank gets filled and what happens when it’s being filled. He works 4 days on and 5 off and then 5 on and 4 off. He’s going to an end of the world party tonight!

I learned that he likes Harley motorcycles and boots and about the Harley he’s about to purchase so he can take trips on it. This one has waterproof storage. Says he’s gonna take a trip on it this summer down to Arizona to see his brother and ride through the Grand Canyon on the way.

He likes to write so he is going to journal his trip. I shared how I thought that was a GREAT idea. He likes to write letters “the old fashioned way”, put a stamp on them and mail them. He likes to read too. So I shared how I like to write and read also and that I had just written and published a book.

His name is Paul. He bought one of my books, is going to read it and then give to his sister who is a school teacher in Winnemucca. I did not know him, He did not know me. Now we know each other and now you know about him too!!

All this while I was waiting for my friend to show up. I could have just said “Thank You” when he complimented my boots and went back to reading my book. The old me would have. I sure hope I enriched his life. I know he enriched mine by letting me listen and learn about him.

Fear is at the Root of It

**THROWBACK POST**

December 11 2015:

I am urged to share with you one of the major themes from a client session this morning.

Fear

Fear is at the root of whatever is blocking you. I think at this point we all get that we’ve got to release this fear in order to move forward. However, it’s not just a matter of saying, “I release you fear.” If you are truly committed to moving forward, try the emotional connection technique.

The negative feelings that arise along with thoughts of achieving your end goal will present also as discomfort, or at the least, a physical feeling within the body. First, commit to yourself to move forward. Second, be quiet and still. Focus on where you physically feel the negative feelings. Stay with it. The location may shift places. It may start out in the heart, then go to the stomach, then jump up to the shoulder. Stay with it.

Release any thoughts of labeling the feeling or thinking about why you feel this way. Also release thoughts of and getting caught up in childhood stories should they arise. If you continue to stay with it, the uncomfortable emotion and physical feeling will, at the least, decrease, and, at the most, release all together. This may happen with just one session or you may need several. Once it has completely dissipated, release whatever it is you wish to move forward with ….

Faithfully try this and you may just be surprised ….. Plus, what’s the opposite of fear? LOVE!!! We must connect with the fear to let in the love that’s there waiting for us!

Love, sweet love … xoxo
