A Little Kindness Here and a Sprinkle of Magic There and a Pinch of Joy All Over

February 19 2018:

A blessed day of a little kindness here, sprinkle of magic there, and a pinch of joy to round it out … On a day when I haven’t felt myself. I think I stayed in bed all day, and this body got up to do the motions! HA! I’m not sick, just blah …

Woke up to a new “Where Would You Fly” book sale and unpacked a couple of boxes and hung a few more lovelies back on the wall.

While filling our water jugs with spring water at a local water tank, the machine took all my cash, but didn’t give me water! Hmmmm … A small trickle was making it’s way into one of the 3 gallon jugs.

That was the last of my cash. I sat there and thought, “Well, what do I do now.”

I got out to take a photo of the sign with the phone number and email and out of no where, a guy walks around the tank and asks if I’m having problems. I explained and it turns out he and his wife own this tank and a few others.

He went to work getting my water and gave me my money as this time it was on them. Yes, it was only $3. I don’t care. An act of kindness is an act of kindness and my heart welcomes kindness in whatever form it arrives.

This wasn’t the only unexpected and positive happening day. Today has been overflowing with them …. And, on a day when I have felt incredibly disconnected and blah …. Just the sort of day that one can truly rejoice in them … xoxo

Bingo and Homemade Wall and Bowling and Fortune and Portal or Peephole and Marvelous Mason and Tea Wisdom and Lotus and Shadow Whisperer

February 12 2018:

Tonight it was Bingo!! Yes! We are set! I’ve unpacked the UNO and Bingo. No need to unpack anything else. HA!

I actually won’t be unpacking that much more. We just needed room to move around!

We are using many of the boxes that are filled with books as a “wall” in the bedroom so that Thomas and Lillian each have their own “room”. These two beings wanted their own room, and by damn I have made it where I am and with what I have. Even if it’s bookshelves, boxes of books, and curtains! Will post a picture as soon as I get a few more boxes out of the way. Wahoo!!

More treasures discovered while unpacking. Looks like 1984 was the first message received that It’s an inside job.

Figured this was the perfect opportunity to go through the keepsake box! Found some stuff to get rid of. YAY!! I LOVE lightening the load! xoxo

February 14 2018:

Yesterday morning while I was the only one awake and had not yet opened the blinds, I spotted this odd shaped rainbow on the wall (top left photo).

I looked behind to see where it could be coming from and the only opening to the sun outside was the tiny peephole across the living room.

I walked over and held my finger in front of it and that is indeed what was creating this interesting shape.

Then I just had to take bunches of pictures of the peephole! Ha! I adore Nature, the sun, the light, and the amazing colors. xoxo

February 14 2018:

I got to spend two hours today with this amazing soul!! His name is Mason, yet I’m calling him Marvelous Mason.

Marvelous Mason was born deaf and lost his eyesight about two years ago. He’s 9 years old and is the most joyful being I have ever met.

He wags his tail joyfully and loved playing tug of war with his stuffed Scooby Doo! He likes it to be thrown so he can fetch it.

It takes him a while to find it as he checks around the room smelling for it. He is not as familiar with his home here so he bumps into the wall and chairs when he’s walking around. Still staying joyful and wagging that beautiful tail!

I am deeply inspired by Marvelous Mason. As I watched him find the couch and walk alongside the couch knowing he wouldn’t bump into anything.

I get to spend another two hours with him next week too. His human can’t leave him alone due to his anxiety from not knowing this part time home (as they only live here part time). He’s taking it out on the front door and causing a wee bit of damage.

He did great with me there. We played for about 30 minutes and then he jumped on the couch, moved a pillow that was in his way, and took a nap. No attacking the door!

I’m pretty sure Marvelous Mason is sharing a story with me …. We shall see!!

February 16 2018:

Ya know those days when you’re morning meditation felt like 5 minutes, and then you have an amazing, off the charts Reiki shaman session that felt like 5 minutes too, and then you go to the grocery store and use 3 forms of payment just so you can pay the tab, and then you come home and check the mail and you receive a surprise early birthday gift of a lotus gemstone chakra pendant?

That’s the magical day I’ve had so far! Wheeee!!! Thank you Momma for the beautiful, shining gift. And the lotus is no longer a broken bird.

And then there’s this … While I was at my Reiki Shaman appointment this morning, I missed quite the rainbow show from our amazing crystal friends. Lillian had fun with this one and her shadow. I call her the Shadow Whisperer aka Shadow Fairy. Love this picture she made. xoxo

You Will Never Know if You Do Not Ask

February 15 2018:

A continuation and the last of the series about publishing a book … xoxo

“D iz for Different – One Woman’s Journey to Acceptance” was written by me in 2011 and published in 2012.

I wrote the bulk of the book in about three months. When I began writing I had no idea how it would get from the initial writing into a published book. Yet, I did not let that stop me from writing. I knew I was to write, so I wrote. Every morning I got up 30 minutes earlier than I had been, sat outside on the patio, with an expansive view of majestic Mount Rose, and wrote for thirty minutes to an hour every day.

It was either during writing the book or just after I had finished that I began researching how to self-publish one’s book. I decided to use Amazon’s self-publishing arm, CreateSpace. Having no money to invest in this book, was a major factor in choosing this option.

I found friends who were willing to be test readers and editors. I had an idea of what I wanted for the cover; yet, during that same time came across artwork that I fell in love with. The art is created by a young man, D.J. Svoboda, with autism who I had been connected with through a mutual Chromosome 18 friend. I was inspired to ask D.J. if he would like his artwork on the cover of my book. He excitedly answered back with a resounding “Yes”! Another friend designed the initial cover for me at no charge.

With the cover designed and the book having … Go below to read further …

Wonderful and Present Moments

February 8 2018:

Wonderful walk with Thomas this afternoon. This amazing young man causes me to stay in the present moment and l i s t e n!!!!

For the topics he wishes to discuss require more than a yes or no. I find myself responding “I don’t know” quite often.

He’s 12 and he likes to talk about some deep stuff. He told Lillian tonight that age doesn’t equate to how smart you are. I am so grateful, grateful, grateful for him.

Tonight after dinner he thanked me for listening to him and talking with him about all that interests him. I do, at times, get frustrated with his topics and I don’t hide it. I’m thankful that I can share honestly with him at those times and roll with it at those times when I find the topics fascinating and interesting. xoxo

Dandelion Has a Question by Camilla Downs

January 8 2018:

This was written last January 2017. It had one section that did not flow through at the time. It did flow this morning. And, now I know why! It had not been experienced yet by the author! Enjoy!!! xoxo

Dandelion Has a Question

One warm sunny day a dandelion was born on Sunshine Hill. From the moment he arrived, he was full of joy and questions. The one question for which he could never seem to know the answer was why he was here, what is he supposed to be doing, and what is his name.

Dandelion was a great helper too. He helped others find answers and things they had lost. He had deep compassion for all beings and for Mother Earth. He was not able to physically help other beings, yet, he used his thoughts and words he shared with others to be of help.

One warm, spring day caterpillar came to dandelion. Caterpillar looked incredibly sad as she approached dandelion half dragging all of her feet. Dandelion asked caterpillar how she was doing. Caterpillar answered she was sad and worried because she looks so different from all the other caterpillars. She’s gotten so tired, she can’t think of anything else other than building a nest and going to sleep. She feels lost and confused and does not know how to be with the changes that are happening in her world.

Dandelion shared with caterpillar that even though she may not …..

Laughing Mindfulness Session

**THROWBACK POST**

December 7 2015:

Last night before I read to Lillian and Thomas we did a “laughing” mindfulness session together. This one is really easy. Everyone stands ….. and …. just starts laughing. At first the laughs are forced, yet it’s magical how the laughs become genuine belly laughs that you cannot stop once started.

I mentioned something about this activity distracting one from non-stop thoughts. We sat down to read a chapter in “Stillness Speaks” and just so happens to have been about how we spend most of our time “distracted” by our thoughts. After I had read a page, Thomas asked if I had read this before deciding to have the “laughing” session. I told him that I had not and that usually what we need to hear or see comes into our life when we are open to it. As there was also a section on boredom and Thomas had repeated several times during the day that he was bored.

I was moved to share two sections from the chapter we read with you. I just happened to be in need of this wonderful reminder too!

“If you can recognize, even occasionally, the thoughts that go through your mind as simply thoughts, if you can witness your own mental-emotional reactive patterns as they happen, then that dimension is already emerging in you as awareness in which thoughts and emotions happen – the timeless inner space in which the content of your life unfolds. The stream of thinking has enormous momentum that can easily drag you along with it.” and “When you feel bored, you can satisfy that by reading, texting, using a digital device, etc ….. Or you can stay bored and restless and observe what it feels like to be bored and restless. As you bring awareness to the feeling, there is suddenly some space and stillness around it.” – Stillness Speaks

I so love it when this happens for me, and I especially love it when it happens for our whole family. I am so blessed to have chosen the path to learn and practice mindfulness, meditation, and emotional connection … and to share and facilitate this for others. May this be helpful in some way for YOU, too! xoxo
