Dune with Thomas – Excellent Movie

Thomas Darnell and I walked to the theater this afternoon for a matinee showing of Dune. It’s about a 5 to 6 minute walk from our place.

Thomas loved it! He said it’s in the top 3 of his favorite movies to date, adding that with Hans Zimmer composing the soundtrack, of course it was great. He also thinks Leto I Atreides resembles Haile Selassie.

We’ve been talking about it on and off since leaving the theater. If you’ve followed our movie watching journey, you may know Thomas is a skilled critic of movies and when he is this excited about a movie, you know it’s damn good.

I definitely enjoyed it, too. I’m just not a fan of theaters anymore. It’s way too loud for me, to the point that I wear ear plugs during the movie. I can’t stand the previews and ads, and can’t pause the movie if I need to go to the bathroom. Hahaha!

Double feature for me and Thomas. His choice: “Beetlejuice” and “The Addams Family”

Thomas says they were both good, and he liked The Addams Family better.

I’ve seen Beetlejuice many times, and know I’ve seen The Addams Family at least once, when first released. It was fun watching them both with Thomas.

 

Vegan Eats: Jackfruit Tacos With Curry Butternut Squash and Steamed Vegetables

I made jackfruit tacos yesterday. They were so pretty, I had to take their photo. Had them for lunch and dinner.

One of my absolute favorite meals. Steamed vegetables over a huge serving of basmati rice, with a few dollops of vegan butter and a few shakes of pink Himalayan salt. 😋😋😋 (and heavily seasoned with my “everyday” seasoning.)

Flashbacks to My Younger Days While Educating Myself

Taking care of something that’s needed addressed for about 5 years. Having an old crown removed, addressing decay, and getting a new crown.

Thank goodness there is enough healthy tooth left for a new crown, as the alternatives would have been a ton of work and lots of money!! Pretty cool having it all done in one visit. The machine that’s making the new crown just finished!

Funny thing happened when I first sat into the dental chair. It felt like the back of the chair was moving. I thought, Oh my goodness. Is this chair moving, or am I tripping out? Had flashbacks to my younger days! 😂🤣😂

I stuck my hand back there twice to see if it was moving, and couldn’t feel anything. After the assistant explained everything, she asked if I had any questions. One question, Is this chair moving, or am I tripping? She laughed, and told me it was in vibration mode. She turned it off, as it was creeping me out! 😱 Told her for a minute there, I thought I took too much CBD oil before coming in.

I really know how to party on a Monday. Major dental work earlier today, and tonight, a zoom session about Interoception and Alexithymia. Names and useful information to put with so many “things” having to do with Lillian and Thomas.

Just finished with another Zoom session. Thank you to the Chromosome 18 Registry for facilitating this one. I got many of my questions answered. Whew!
