Team TLC movie night – Lillian’s choice: “The Red Turtle”

Lillian says, “Good, emotional, liked the music, like the story.”

I say, “I usually like Studio Ghibli movies. I did enjoy this one. Just not as much as others. Simple story of the circle of life with a fable twist. Interestingly, not a word was spoken in this movie.”

Thomas sat this one out.

The True Secret of Writing

This is the third of Natalie Goldberg’s books that I’ve read. By far, my favorite. Loved it so much I wanted to sleep with it next to my pillow and soak in every morsel.

The subtitle is “Connecting Life with Language”; one indication of why I find this book to be so powerful. It did my writer’s soul good to read that I am already doing some of what she shares and to learn of how much more I can be doing. Inspiring, moving, beautiful …. xoxo

Team member T & C extra movie night while Lillian spends the weekend with The Romano Duo: Thomas’ choice – “The Phantom Menace” …. Second time around for Thomas, first for me.

Thomas says, “It was okay.”

I say, “I’m glad to be sharing watching these with Thomas. You know I’m all about quieting the mind and hearing the voice within.

Graceful icicles today as the snow melted. Along with the amazing sun. 💦☀️

February 6 2019:

Today was library volunteer day. Lillian and I couldn’t resist the lil garden behind the library. Wonderful, untouched, soft, fluffy snow! Along with a beautiful blue sky and gorgeous trees. That and some deep belly laughs = Ahhhhhh!!!

February 8 2019:

Love the way the trees frame the sun … from a walk yesterday.

February 9 2019:

… from the hour long walk yesterday. It was perfect timing to have this walk, then write about walking, and what it means for me.

Since the first week of January I’ve submitted seven writings of either a trio of poems or an essay style writing. We shall see if any are accepted or chosen. If not chosen, at least I’m creating new material for my blog and next book!

**THROWBACK TO 2016**

The Journey

A persons journey is never the same as another
With twists and turns and roads less traveled
Smooth at times, bumpy at others.

We begin this journey from our common home
And we travel to far away distant lands
In search of something we think we’ve lost
Only to realize that it was never really lost.

It was simply buried beneath ideas we assumed as our own
And buried beneath beliefs that soaked deep into our cells.
So we each travel our own journey home
And although our journeys are unique
Our destination is the same.

Ultimately, we all reach the destination
A destination reached at different times for each person.
We are welcomed to a home we never really departed
Welcomed into love’s embrace.
