She is Thrilled to Be Making It

December 14 2018:

Gerry, the wonderful lady we met at the Barnes & Noble book signing last month, is super thrilled to be making a quilt using Lillian’s Rainbow of Emotions!

She fell in love with the artwork and kept commenting how great it would look as a quilt. The thought finally occurred to me to ask her if she’d like to make one if we had interest from someone in having one.

Well, this lovely 3 X 3 quilt, once made, will be headed to Houston, Texas to adorn a studio wall!! Yee-Haw!! xoxo

My Entire Life Dissolved by Camilla Downs

December 11 2018:

Last Tuesday my entire life dissolved. It simply disappeared like sugar in boiling water. Who I am, who I thought myself to be disintegrated. In my mind’s eye, I could see creations and events literally crumbling. Have you ever had that happen?

Being me, I view this as the only way I know how … As a deeply spiritual experience. And I am grateful to be traveling this path … uncomfortable experiences, and all.

It left this one saturated with confusion and pain. I had been

Movie Night: White Christmas

December 8 2018:

Team TLC movie night: Lillian’s choice – Another December favorite – “White Christmas”

Lillian says, “Good, musical, great for Christmas, definitely puts you in the holiday spirit (if you aren’t already), festive, my favorite characters are the sisters, and I like almost all the songs.”

I say, “Wonderful feel good movie. Love it!”

Thomas says, “I liked it.”

Book Musings: The Remarkable Story of George Moses Horton – Poet

December 8 2018:

The Remarkable Story of George Moses Horton – Poet

A wonderful story about a determined man in the early 1800’s who loved words and loved poetry the best. George Moses Horton was a slave who taught himself to read, sold poetry to college students, and published several books.

All of this at a time when African-American literacy was discouraged, devalued, and even outlawed in this country. Horton was a person with talents and hopes and dreams, and a desire to be free. GREAT book!

Anything Can Happen

Listen to the mustn’ts. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me … Anything can happen. Anything can be.” -Shel Silverstein ….
