The Tao of Letting Go

Just read this again for the first time since it was written last February. I’m inspired! Thanks for writing this post Camilla! HA!

from the post …. “Recently, I let go of “The Desk” (the new term we’ve coined for my desk that’s been in storage limbo since June 2015). The Desk was handmade for me some time around 1999. I spent countless hours at that desk. The Desk witnessed many moves, life happenings, and events.

I had a strong knowing that I was to let it go. Not only that, but I knew the exact person who was to receive The Desk. I related this to the … ”

A Rapturous Dance With Life

…. “Thoughts of us being stranded due to car problems kept entering my mind like a dark storm cloud encroaching on the brightest of days. Not to be left out of the dance, thoughts of my insanity at attempting this cut into the dance too. All of this dance to be completed with the veil of anxiety and worry weaving in and out like a breeze blowing through the trees …..

…. I had stepped way out of my comfort zone with this trip. I had never driven this far, much less driven this far being the only one in charge of packing, driving, and navigating. Plus, we had never … ”

The Power and Magic of Connected Parenting

from the article … “Ever since Thomas was 1 year old we have been going to the library every 2 or 3 weeks. We live as a team rather than a dictatorship. Mostly, I am the team leader, yet I give them many opportunities to lead. We have letting go burning ceremonies every quarter.

We continually talk about why we are here, what are our goals, how are we doing personally and as a family, we make gratitude lists, create yearly vision boards for each of us and one as a family, write “compliment” notes for each other, and we openly discuss and practice mindfulness and emotional connection. We are not typical … and we like it ….. “

Why I Began to Blog

December 22 2016:

Team TLC extra movie night: My choice: “Julie & Julia” –

I say, “I watched this for the first time in 2007. It was one of the reinforcing messages to teach myself everything about blogging.

Which, I did. I spent hours and hours learning. And, then I jumped in!! I purchased my, Thomas’, and Lillian’s names as domains as I knew this would be important for them later in life. Thomas was 2 years old at the time. He’s 11 years old now. (CamillaDowns.com and ThomasADarnell.com and LillianDarnell.com … )

I began blogging at Pink Elephant Books .com and then Lillian joined me over there. I think she was 6 years old. Then at some point she and I switched to writing at our namesake blogs. And, later, Thomas did too. And at some point I began an online journal at The Team TLC .com (this blog).

I loved this movie then and now as, for me, it is about listening to our intuition, divine messages, and following those messages without hesitation. xoxoxo”

Thomas says, “I liked it. I like food. I liked that she was driven by a passion for something. I liked how it switched back and forth in time. I like how it is similar to my 365 photography project.”

Lillian says, “Good, I like how it has to do with food, liked how she was passionate, like the humor, my favorite parts were Julie’s blog, and after she cooked the last dish, and how she got to see Julia’s kitchen.”

“Nature knows not
Her beauty without us.
We know not
Our beauty, compassion,
And peace without her.”
Oh beautiful tree
The lessons thy impart to me
Open the heart to be free
Grateful to you
I will forever be.” Camilla Downs – Author, Lessons from Nature
