Team TLC walk this afternoon. Lillian heads to Surprise, Arizona later this week with The Romano Duo so we made sure to have a walk with the whole team before she leaves. And look at the amazing cloud show we got to see!!

Life by the Cup

Having started reading biographies and memoirs, I’m grateful this was one of the first. I’ve read others along the way, yet I’ve a different reason for reading them now.

I deeply enjoyed this journey with Zhena as she transformed her life and allowed it to blossom from her gypsy roots and heritage into a passion for organic, fair trade tea. Deepened with her own spiritual insights rolled into her life like the tea leaves she dearly loves.

I have a new and stronger appreciation for tea and those who grow it and cultivate the leaves. I’m grateful to Zhena for the beautiful way in which she wrote about the tea leaves and the mixture of flowers, fruits, and essential oils. xoxo

I just asked Thomas if he had fun at Danell & Ron’s tonight. “Are you kidding? It was awesome!” was his reply!

Thank you Danell for such a yummy dinner and thank you both (and Timona too) for making Thomas and Lillian feel so special! The macaroni & cheese was delicious!! Y’all are the best! Love you!

from Lillian ….. to fundraise … xoxo …. “I’ve decided to sell prints or copies of the Egyptian Eye once again to fundraise and help my family attend the annual Chromosome 18 conference. The print will be about an 8 X 10 and mounted on foam board or similar ready to hang.

The Chromosome 18 conference helps me get over my fears and my emotions. It helps me feel brave, courageous, and enjoyable. Here’s an example: Last year in July when my family and I were inside the airport, I was fearful, nervous, tired, and afraid; yet, the view I got from the airplane was amazing and it was all worth it.

Here’s a story inspired by The Egyptian Eye:

The Wise Sultan and The Camel

Once many years ago, a camel walked in the Egyptian desert. The camel wondered if it had an Egyptian eye. So the camel passed a wise sultan who was on his way to a faraway land named Butterfly Land.

The camel asked, “Do you know if I have an Egyptian eye? I’ve been wondering for years now.” The wise sultan chuckled and said, “Certainly seems like you have an Egyptian eye but it is up to you to decide.”

Life is Not the Stories We Tell Ourselves

Sunday, May 13, 2018 was Mother’s Day in the United States. It was the worst Mother’s Day I can remember experiencing.

I’m writing this, I’m sharing this, for those amongst us whose hearts were covered and weighted with sadness. As I know not everyone had a great and blessed day being showered and pampered with love by themselves or loved ones.

Thomas had just returned to Reno from his visit with The Romano Duo (grandparents) in Arizona. He had much blunt and forthright thoughts to share about how unhappy he is with our situation and with Lillian’s inflexibilities and anxieties. I grabbed that hook and sank into a deep sadness of telling myself how much of a failure I am at providing for my kids, how much of a failure I am at being their parent.

(Let me add here that I do not blame Thomas. I have raised him to be …..
