I Did a Thing – Camilla Replaced Headlight Bulbs

March 7 2019:

I did a thing this afternoon. Replaced both headlight bulbs in our car, Rosey. I’ve never done that before and couldn’t contain my excitement afterwards.

Jumped up and down screaming “Wahoo! I did it!!”, and did a little victory dance! May we all remember to celebrate the little things!

Now, if I could just figure out how to fix an oil leak and the overheating issue ….. we’d be set!!

We Are Surrounded By Good

**THROWBACK POST**

May 2 2014:

I awoke this morning with a heart open to all the good that surrounds me. After our love and hug conversation at breakfast we left to take Thomas and Lillian to school. I decided I was gonna listen to some music on the way. Turned on the radio and “Best Day of My Life” was playing … Blow my mind!! Then happy, fun songs one right after another! Dropped Lillian off and told her to have fun having the best day of her life. Dropped Thomas off and told him to have the time of his life sharing love.

At the grocery store a lovely grandfatherly gentlemen stopped me on the aisle and said “That’s a very special dress you have on.” I told him “Thank you …… And so are YOU!” Beautiful sweet man was speechless.

Last stop was the bank to get a cashier’s check. The teller asked me if I wanted to withdraw any money from my account. I told her no, unless it was coming from somewhere else … with a smile and a giggle. After a few seconds checked my phone for texts and I had a text that I’d received money deposited into another account … that I did not know was coming … Without knowing it I said something out loud and she asked if I had a question. I said “No, I really did just receive money. Ask and you shall receive!” My eyes almost sweated right there in the bank!

Then, after Thomas’ vaulting lessons tonight Team TLC stopped at little Washoe Lake for some rock throwing and skipping! I love LOVE! Best Day Of My Life Indeed! Plan on having another tomorrow! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

She’s a Member of a Rare Club and I Am Crazy

February 28 2019:

This spitfire is 1 in 56,0000! Missing the short arm of Chromosome #18. Honoring all who find themselves as part of this club on Rare Disease Day. Red for 18p- …. ❤️❤️❤️

That’s it. I’m one crazy lady. Lillian asked in December if we could take advantage of “free for locals” winter swimming at the Grand Sierra. Sure, we can do that.

For one reason or another we didn’t make it and today was the last day for the free swimming.

We first made our way to the Infinity pool. With wind gusting so hard we could hardly walk. That’s it in the last picture. I think I would have preferred 30 degrees and no wind as that’s what it felt like. Thank goodness the pool is heated. Needed my ear muffs though. Frozen ears!!!

You can tell by our smiles that it felt much better in the hot tub. It is protected from the winds by the hotel building and ahhhhhhhh, ohhhhhhhhhhh so warm.

One crazy a** adventure done!! Check. Lillian, please do not ask to do this next winter!! Hahaha! I’m glad we did it. We laughed. We smiled. Yet, I’m a “I’ve done it once, don’t need to do it again” adventure person.

Between this and the hour long walk this morning in the 25 mile an hour gusts, I’m ready for bed! Mother Nature packs a powerful workout! No gym needed!

I figured she wouldn’t last long!! (And, she didn’t) So, thought the little bit I’d be cold was worth it so she could experience this …. (and hopefully not want to ever do it again!!)

Happy Birthday to Camilla

February 26 2019:

Just had to show off this lovely creation by my sweet friend Jessica Araus!! Sweet and perfect!!

And, my mantra for the day from sweet friend, Cat Murray …. “I am shiny” … Heeheehee!!

And, and this beautiful birthday blessing from my beautiful friend Lalita Simon-Creasey …

Happy Birthday to you dearest Camilla
I wish to ye with that most beautiful of smiles
Fall deeper and deeper in love with who you are
Seeing grace and beauty everywhere as you travel through the miles.

May today be the beginning of everything true
May you be fulfilled, cherished and joyfully happy
May you see always truest beauty inside you
May you smile as you read these words of prosperity.

With lots of love on your birthday and always,
Lalita

We enjoyed a special birthday dinner at The Romano Duo’s place the night before my birthday.

It was a nasty drive from Reno to Dayton with extremely strong winds, gusting 80-90 miles per hour with the added bonus of big fat wet snow drops; which froze as soon as landing on the windshield! Took my time, driving as slow as I needed to feel comfortable, taking the least busy route so as not to worry about other drivers who may be in a hurry.

Frank had a virgin Bloody Mary waiting for me with a beautiful roasted, pickled asparagus spear and lemon stuffed olives! We enjoyed an amazing salad to go with our main dish. They made me my very own pot of vegan spaghetti sauce using Beyond Meat crumbles. And a lovely vegan Baklava for my birthday dessert treat.

Ahhhhhh …. Good stuff!!

On my birthday, 2.26.19, we had birthday cake for lunch today!! Thank you to Thomas for catching the moment of my wish making. ❤️❤️❤️

Birthday celebrations with a plot twist! Sparkling pink lemonade birthday toast in the dark!!! Power went out just as we were sitting for dinner. Stayed out for three hours. That wind packed a powerful message.

Thank you to my sweet friend and neighbor, Kendra Johnson for buying a package of C batteries for our flashlight! I just happened to text her asking if she had any while she was at the store!!

And, thank you to another sweet neighbor for whom I’m cat sitting. I borrowed a couple of votive candles from her place. Cats were kinda freaked out from the wind and their music had shut off!

Lillian used coding on scratch to make me a digital card. Isn’t it beautiful??? I was going to have a birthday movie night. Hmmmm … Will see if I make it to it now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the beautiful wishes and blessings everyone. Thomas took this picture of my wish making yesterday afternoon.

This 49th year blew in with 60 and 70 mile gusts, eventually taking the power out just as we sat to eat dinner and have our sparkling pink lemonade toast last night. It was three hours later when power was restored. There’s an interesting message in there somewhere. Ha!!!

Indian Food at Moon Rabbit Cafe

February 23 2019:

Thomas and I had an early birthday celebration dinner for me tonight!! It was perfect! Incredibly blessed we have this Pay-What-You-Can Café in our community.

Moon Rabbit Cafe – Bollywood Night Dinner (Indian Food) at Reno Buddhist Center.

For starters we enjoyed Alootikki with garbanzo, onion and mint tamarind chutneys. I had veggie Biryani and Thomas had chicken Biryani over curry infused Basmati rice with a side of mint sauce. To finish we had a sweet Basmati rice pudding and a hot cuppa Masala chai tea!

More Magical Icicle Fairyland

February 19 2019:

I just can’t help it. Magical icicle fairyland.

It’s like they won’t leave me alone …. until I go photograph them! I’m sure I look quite mad squeezing between huge columns and air conditioner units and squatting to get them from underneath! Bwahahaha ……

Played in the snow for a few minutes this afternoon. What a delight!

It was a cold, cold walk earlier this afternoon. My face froze!

February 19 2019:

The tree shadows called for my attention. Eye-catching!

February 22 2019:

A walk this morning … Beautiful how there’s snow blanketing the frozen sections.
