Team TLC Christmas Movie Suggestions

We have many movies that we watch every November and December. I’ve put this list together in the hopes that you find a sweet gem of a movie you had not known about. We tend to enjoy a combination of the classic black and white movies along with modern classics. As well as Lillian’s love of the “Barbie” movies. Here ya go!

I’m still adding to this list as I found a few we haven’t seen yet! So excited! If we enjoy them, I’ll come back and add to this! They’re all oldies!

Although these are links to the movies on Amazon, most of these can be found at local libraries. That’s where we get our movies! I really like the images rather than just plain text for the movie. And, also, these are Amazon affiliate links. The Art of Self Appreciation – The Alchemy of You – Empowering You from Within

Who struggles with self appreciation? It has certainly been a deep learning curve for me and I feel the art of self appreciation is needed by so many of us.

Which is why I was inspired, four years after the idea was born, to soft launch my mentoring program, The Alchemy of You – Empowering You from Within, by offering 10 gratis sessions. Six sessions are taken with four remaining.

Definition of appreciation: the recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something (Dictionary.com)

Definition of appreciate: Rise in value. Recognize the full worth of (Oxford)

During a session, client chooses a situation that triggers negative emotions, responses, or uncomfortableness. I walk client through connecting with the emotion/feeling to release it and to further open the heart.

I feel what is holding so many of us back from being our authentic selves and knowing what we want to contribute to the world are these triggers and our response to them.

I like to describe the process I offer as a recipe, and like all recipes the ingredients can be adjusted by the client to suit their “taste”.

Decisions As We Approach Lillian Darnell Reaching 18 Years of Age – Nevada

Friends with special needs adult children … Lillian is 17 years old now and it’s time to decide about guardianship. I’ll need to decide whether to do a full guardianship, or just financial, or just medical or both or alternatives.

**Nevada friends have shared about Supported Decision making – About to educate myself on that!!** So … input on any and all routes friends have gone is welcome! Lillian is capable of making decisions. Although, she has a difficult time with some decisions; with much anxiety.

Would you mind sharing your thoughts and experiences with this? I’m interested in hearing from all, especially friends in the state of Nevada since state laws can be different.

Did you have your local Regional Center (state organization that provides services for special needs kids) to assist with this by giving you information and/or conducting a psychological evaluation?

Lillian is not medically fragile and we hardly ever go to the doctor. She hasn’t been in years. Her difficulties are her ability to articulate her speech, and emotional and mental issues. She does have difficulty making some decisions. She almost always ask for my input; which I give to her. She still has some difficulties after that, yet, I usually will try a bit more to get her to make the decision. If she’s not able to do it, I’ll make the decision for her (which, sometimes will snap her into being firm with her own decision)!

Wild n Crazy Ice Cream Flavors and Farewell Swim

Thomas and I stopped to get our Icecycle Creamery fix before Alchemist Theatre tonight!!

Oh my gosh!! Pickle flavor! Unfortunately there was only enough for us to taste and find out that we loved it!!! Yummy!! Must go back for that!

I tasted about 4 different flavors and Balsamic Roasted Tomato was one of them. I really didn’t think I would like it. Surprise! Incredibly delicious so that’s what I had.

Thomas had half Roy Rogers and half salted butterscotch.

September 28 2018:

This afternoon Team TLC had a farewell swim in the amazing pool! After this weekend, it’s drained and covered til next spring.

This Pisces girl is going to miss submerging in the water so often. And I know Thomas and Lillian will miss it too.

Deep gratitude for the wet, silky-smooth, hugs and love! I love you water …. til next spring! 💙💦💦 💦 💙

 

The Romano Duo are Back and Celebration

After 3 years, The Romano Duo are back! Right back where they lived when first moving to the area in 2004! Dayton!

Smithsonian Magazine Free Museum Day – Bowers Mansion

Free museum day!!! After all these years, Thomas and I finally toured the inside of Bowers Mansion.

(Not Lillian’s thang! She loves the grounds but no interest in seeing the inside.)
