Peacefully Experience Life

**THROWBACK POST**

December 4 2015:

Thomas took this picture of me in October 2015 on one of our walks around the lake. Sure do LOVE our walks! I used it with a blog article titled, “How to Peacefully Experience Life’s Lessons” … May it appear in front of the one that will benefit from it. Oceans of love and peace to YOU! xoxo

How to Peacefully Experience Life’s Lessons

Take That First Step by Camilla Downs – Part Two

January 29 2018:

A continuation of thoughts shared two weeks ago. Do you need to have the means before you begin creating? I say start where you are and grow from there. Here’s an excerpt … xoxo

” …. so I’m going to get to the bottom line first thing. And those who are interested about the entire story can read further. Lillian’s book was published with absolutely no money paid out to anyone for the creation of the book. That’s it!

Now, there was a bit of money paid for the ISBN bar code graphic (about $20), for envelopes to mail the books once received (about $15), and for two proof copies of the book (about $15 each which included shipping).

I want to reiterate that I am not sharing this to brag or gloat. That is not my nature. I am sharing this to give hope, to share …… ”

“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Now, for Thomas’ book, Biggest Little Photographer. His book did cost us a bit of up front money as it is a photography book and these are not the type of book to use Amazon’s createspace for publishing and printing.

When Thomas was 8 years old, he began a 365 day photography project. Every day for one year he made a photo of a LEGO mini-figure photographer making a photo. We took that little man with us everywhere!! For one full year he traveled with Thomas and Team TLC. In the beginning, I told Thomas that if he stuck with it, we’d make it into a book. A real, published book that we could sell.

And, he did stick with it. About a month or two after beginning …. Go here to read more …

Experience of a Lifetime with the Gaden Shartse Monks

January 20 2018:

Thomas and I attended Green Tara ~ Empowerment *Ritual tonight. So much WOW!! Has anyone experienced something like this?

I was going to attend alone and a barefoot Thomas came chasing me as I was leaving saying he felt compelled to come too. We each received this golden chord blessed by the Dalai Lama. What an incredibly beautiful experience. xoxoxo 🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜

Thomas had an amazing experience right before bed and we stayed up until midnight talking so I could help him process it. In an instant, he had a wave of compassion come over him for one he does not think highly of and one he as judged harshly. He was looking at a “dark” drawing of this person and saw himself as this person, in this person’s shoes. It was incredibly powerful! The power of knowing we are all ONE, will absolutely shift this world to a higher plane. We need more monks to visit more places … xoxo

January 21 2018:

Single Pointed Meditation this afternoon at Carson City Yoga with Tibetan Heart visiting monks. They are on a Sacred Earth and Healing Arts of Tibet Tour. Just WOW again. Does anyone else practice meditation?

We meditated on compassion, loving kindness, and attempting to pinpoint the self (which can’t be done) as believing there is a solid self is where suffering arises. (Paraphrasing the lama’s teaching.)

Thomas and I attended an event last night too. And it was amazing. I am so incredibly grateful to have experienced both of these events. We will try and make at least one of the South Lake Tahoe events. xoxo

Gaden Shartse Monks Single Point Meditation 1.21.18

January 26 2018:

The Lama trains for 25 years from 5 am to midnight, six days a week and then he attends 2-3 years of a specialized training/college to be able to offer the ceremonies like he did tonight.

Tonight Thomas and I attended a Chay Drol Healing Ceremony at Blue Angel Cafe in South Lake Tahoe facilitated by the Gaden Shartse Monks (Sacred Earth and Healing Arts of Tibet Tour). Their tour is almost complete in this area. Two more days, I believe. One can literally feel the kindness and compassion vibrating from this beautiful Lama and his monk companions.

Anyone who has done energy, healing work for me knows that I have issues that flare at times on the right side of my gut area/gall bladder area.

I was extremely blessed to feel moved to ask the lama to bless this area for me. I released much during the ceremony, yet felt the need for this too. Green Tara worked her mojo on me! HA! I could feel things shooting out me.

He ever so gently stood next to me and placed his hands in this area while chanting blessings. The picture of us is afterwards.

Thomas asked the Lama to bless his metal water bottle, also. These are such beautiful souls spreading the message of non-violence, compassion, love, kindness and enlightenment for all who wish to receive.

Description of the ceremony: Chay Drol Healing Ceremony

Literally translated, ‘Chay Drol’ means to make free of obstacles. Chay Drol is a ritual that helps to remove the obstacles that prevent one from achieving enlightenment.
The procedure begins with the Lama going into deep meditation and generating himself in the form of a deity. He then places colored strings and pieces of cloth on various parts of the participant’s body.

Through ritual, the strings and pieces of cloth will be transformed to physically represent the obstacles of the participant.

Finally, the Lama will use ‘Wisdom Weapons’ to cut the ‘obstacles’ from the participant, thereby freeing him/her and opening the door to liberation. A colorful and participatory ceremony.

Have You Ever Had One of Those Mornings

January 11 2018:

You know one of those mornings, after you’ve meditated for 45 minutes and it felt like 10 minutes. And, then you’re writing in your journal and stuff flies through your fingers into your journal that is exactly what you need to hear.

And, then you connect with some deep pain. And, then sob like crazy. And, then a beautiful, perfect, blissful, peace comes over you like you just had a two hour long massage. And then you have an hour and a half Shamanic Reiki healing session, facilitated by an amazing friend, where your traveling through the Aurora Borealis for the entire session?

Well, maybe not.

Yet, that happened for me this morning!! And, I’ve been feeling like James Brown singing “I feel good” all day long!! There’s some coiled latent energy thats uncoiling. Hold on tight! xoxo

What does Hurricane Harvey have to do with acceptance?

Well. Hurricane Harvey must have needed a dose of acceptance as he borrowed my friend Monica’s copy of “D iz for Different”. By the time he was done with it, the book was destroyed.

So. Yesterday was a good day to mail Monica a replacement book. Courtesy of another friend who found out about it. Love, sweet love. xoxoxo

Staying Strong with the Once Per Week Library Volunteering

January 10 2018:

Today was volunteer day! Staying strong at keeping with our 2 hour a week commitment! Here’s Lillian pulling holds and pushing the cart. Instead of doing them together, now we divide the hold list and she’s pulling em by herself now!

We also may or may not accidentally find books we want to check out too! (That’s what the bottom shelf of the cart is for holding!! Right??)

Celebrating Brushing One’s Hair

**THROWBACK POST**

November 25 2015:

Brushing one’s hair. Simple for most. Not so simple for those with motor skill difficulties. I was moved to share a moment of deep gratitude.

Lillian. Has. Mastered. BRUSHING HER OWN HAIR!!!! At 14 years, 2 months old she can finally do it! It takes her about 6 times as long as the average amount of time, yet she CAN DO IT!!!! …….

Sending this with oceans of strength, courage, and PATIENCE that you never give up on yourself or your loved ones. I have found there are times to let those in our care rest, and not push them; and there are those times when we say, “No. You can do it. I know you can. Once you know you can do it too, you WILL do it.”

And I know one day, yep, one day she will be able to wash her own hair. She doesn’t believe that right now. Yet, I know one day she will, one day she WILL. Love, sweet, love!! xoxo
