Team TLC and Romano Duo Christmas 2017

Shhhhh …. They are still sleeping and I’m savoring a yummy piping hot winter blend coffee and a chocolate frosted gluten free donut.

I was up late making rather merry …. Poring over and combing through a special proof book to ensure corrections only have to be made once! I hope that counts as a Christmas present since it’s all I’ve been immersed in for a while!

Merry Christmas …. And an abundance of joy and love to you all.

Most useful and much needed gift!! Thank you Romano Duo!

We have quite the walk from where the car is parked to our cozy little place. I buy spring water from a tank, filling 3 gallon jugs, and I’ve been using a broken cart with one wheel missing to haul them inside! No more!!

Got to use this sweet cart last night on a water run. WOW!! So much better and easier!

I love creating with recycled items! Grocery bag handle for hanging, crumpled packing paper wrapped around a thick piece of cardboard that was inside of a new wall calendar.

Poem written by me, glass stones, sun and hearts of silver and gold beads, three dragonflies with the letters T,L,C, and flower of dark green pearl beads and blue crystal bead, and yarn grass. Lastly a heart prayer box locket with a tiny gold heart in it. (Team TLC colors are blue and green.)

Another Small Step to Independence – Lillian Darnell

One more task I have been relieved of helping with. It seems so small and trivial, yet, Lillian feels she must have a dab of peppermint oil rubbed under her nose before going to bed.

There have been many times I was incredibly tired and ready for bed long before she got to this step. Doing her routine and all the steps in order is vital to Lillian …. in her mind and way of thinking.

This was the last task I was helping with that kept me from going to bed when my body and mind were ready. Best, Best, Best Christmas present Ever!!

For about the past 6 months, on the 3rd of every month, Lillian chooses one task to take over that I’ve still been helping with. I was firm that for December, this was it!!! HA!!! Hallelujah ….

Team TLC New Year’s Eve 2017 – Walking and Collage Boards and Letting Go

Thomas and I went for one last walk for 2017. Then home for working on our 2018 collage boards and paper strips for a letting go burning ceremony later tonight.

And, next, celebrating on east coast time watching the ball drop and toasting with pink grapefruit Italian soda! Then listening to two of my favorite songs …. Imagine and Watching the Wheels. Peace and Love.

Just seeing her writings in book form is a success for me. What a process creating a book is when doing it all oneself (except for the hard work our angel book designer has put into it)! I really enjoy the creation process and can’t wait to get that first shipment!!

Discovery Museum – Remembering Times Gone By

Thank you Washoe County Library! Library card holders receive one free family pass per year. It’s set up sort of like checking out a book. Check out one pass a year!

Check out my tower! Ha! And the cool veins in my hand! And an upside down Lillian. Team TLC at the electrosketch and spotted Biggest Little Photographer in the gift shop and a hand full of itty bitty loves.

It’s been a year or two since we’ve been and it’s not as exciting for them as it was when they were younger. Yet, it was fun thinking about how much fun had been had on previous visits. Good stuff!!

Gratitude for The Romano Duo

I am filled with gratitude for the unconditional love of my Mama, Patty Romano, and my step-father, Frank Romano ….

They never openly judge or question my actions or inactions. They support me the best way they can and know how. I missed my Mama so much during all those years from 6th grade through the age of 20 years old. I’m happy for the times we saw each other during that time and am grateful and blessed we’ve made up for all that missed time in the last 22 years.

I love you lady with all my heart, body and soul and am blessed to pieces that you are my Mama!! Frank: I’m grateful that you came into my Mama’s life 26 years ago … You are a sexy, kind, gentle, giving, rockin Italian ROCK STAR of a man!!!!!!! Thank you for being such a fabulous step-father and grandfather to Thomas and Lillian!!!

Will You Spread More Loving Kindness in 2018

On this last day of 2014, thought I’d share a beautiful act of loving-kindness I was fortunate to witness on Monday. I took Thomas to Target to use the $5 gift card he received as being a part of the giving tree at school. We were on a mission to get him some much needed new socks! After getting a shiny new package of 12 pairs of beautiful white socks, we were walking to the car and passed by an elderly gentleman who had mistakenly driven his vehicle down the pedestrian sidewalk in the middle of the parking lot. He was parked at the end and, I’m assuming, was confused why we, and others, were walking towards him and beside his vehicle and why the “lane” he was in had ended.

After we got past him and made a left in the narrow pedestrian exit, the gentleman tried to exit his vehicle the same way. In the process of this, he rammed the front right bumper into the cart stall. My response was something like, “Oh my gosh!”

A beautiful, kind-hearted good samaritan had the presence of mind to walk over to the gentleman to see if he needed assistance. The elderly gentleman was really quite confused as to why he couldn’t exit the way we pedestrians had. The good samaritan gently kept explaining that there wasn’t enough clearance and that he’d have to back out the way he came.

Mr. Good Sam stayed with the elderly man for 10 minutes or longer, talking him through backing out. He stood right there next to the window and walked him every inch of the way out of the pedestrian walkway. It took me that long to figure out how to get out of this monstrous parking lot I was trapped in.

As I drove by on the street side, they had reached the end of the pedestrian walkway and it was time for the elderly man to back into the actual parking lot with cars going by in both directions. My heart went out to both of them as I drove off.

You see, I needed to witness this act of loving-kindness to help me to remember to have an attitude of gratitude. I haven’t been inside a Target since 2006 so I had no idea about the prices. The entire time we were looking at socks, I was complaining about the high prices. Upon reflection, I could have caught myself and focused on feelings of gratitude for Thomas receiving a gift card in the first place. I realized when writing in my journal Tuesday morning that I was meant to witness this and not be the one helping.

I’m grateful I got to witness one soul helping another, grateful that the good samaritan helped that man, and grateful for loving-kindness … Pass on some loving-kindness today. You never know how far it will reach … Happy, Love-Filled New Year to YOU! xoxo
